Ammonite #5

Paleoworld-101

Description: A nice looking, large but crushed ammonite found between Charmouth and Lyme Regis. There is a crack running through the specimen and i collected it expecting to find it broken upon opening the package full of my finds sent back from England to Australia. Surprisingly it survived the journey and is still as-found. Collected on my fourth day hunting the Jurassic Coast (26/11/13).

Geological Formation: Charmouth Mudstone Formation

Age: 190-195 million years old

Location: Coastline between Charmouth and Lyme Regis, UK
