Tapirus veroensis

This is the most common Pleistocene tapir. It was about the size of the living Neotropical Tapir. Pleistocene tapirs are more common finds in Florida than elsewhere. The canines are much less common to find than cheek teeth. The teeth in this image are in unworn to slightly-worn condition.
