Jealous. Have been to NSR many times, never found a mosasaur tooth. Awesome find.

Thanks for the comments. This was certainly a lucky find.

A note on identification:

A more conservative identification would be simply a Mosasauridae tooth. I was perhaps overeager to assign a genus and species to this larger tooth.

Update: Michael Polcyn of Southern Methodist University has identified this tooth as Tylosaurus proriger.
