Found these two near the peace river wondering if anyone could tell me what they are? I have some guesses but just wanted to make sure, the first I think is some kind of whale tooth and the second could be some kind of tusk but not sure.

Hi everyone, My name is Tony. I'm from Northern Illinois. I've been collecting fossils for about 25 years. I've been watching for a long time and decided it was time to sign up. I would like some of your opinions on a cool claw I acquired from a reputable but not very knowledgeable dealer. I bought it as a Dromaeosaur. I think the primary thing that bothers me is the weight. It's 3" long (straight line) and only weighs 28 grams. Here are a few pics. I can't wait for every ones' opinion. Tony

Found this fossil in a creek during my last trip my guess is that its a whale tooth or some kind of tooth. But I was wondering if anyone knows what it is? Along with possibly how old it could be? I found it on a creek near the peace river.

One of my smaller slabs from a construction site in the Tarrant formation had a few interesting little fossils embedded that I can’t identify without trying to extract them. Any ideas? Or not a fossil? The Tarrant formation, south Tarrant County TX.

I don’t need anything specific, just the category it falls under. Is it coral, bone, etc. It is very small, about 1/2 x 2/3 x 1/4 (inches).

I found this tooth a while back on a dredge system in georgia. I was wondering on its ID since im not too familiar with the area.

I know its small but I found this tooth a while back and had forgotten about it so while looking through my trips smaller teeth I found 3 Carcharoides totuserratus which i didn’t know were rare until watching one of blackriverfossils videos. So I was wondering what kind of tooth this is and if anything rare? The last photo is the Carcharoides totuserratus I was talking about.

Gastropod ID? Eagle ford Shale (not far from Woodbine) Dallas County TX

I found my 2nd and 3rd gastropods in the Eagle Ford, but these are unique (to me). Especially one that I found right along the Trinity River in western Dallas County TX. it’s almost glass-like on portions of it and I kept thinking it was still wet due to the reflection. I also found a nice handful of ammonites but I’ll post that elsewhere. I finally met my match with the cold water..I still got in up to my ankles. 🤣😬 any ideas on the gastropods?

I found this ammonite, nothing I’ve ever found before. Notice the raised ribs every 3-4 ribs. What do you think? Tarrant county, near a Kiamichi/Fort Worth/Paw paw formation border but it could be Goodland. Lots of small Hemiaster echinoids and smaller Oxytropidoceras ammonites. This one looks Mortoniceras to me!

I found this heavy, dark bone on a gravel bar along the trinity river in western Dallas County Texas. Any ideas? This little calcite-like pebble occupied the hole visible on one end. I have not performed any burn tests, litmus tests, multiple choice tests, or otherwise. I measured it, 9” long almost exactly. Roughly 1.25” wide near the center measuring across the side with the dip. Thanks in advance!

I don’t usually find these and I can’t say I know what genus/species they are, but I have come to appreciate the fine detail on a lot of fossils in the eagleford and woodbine compared to what I find in the limestone rich Fort Worth/Grayson/duck creek formations. Any help is appreciated! Mostly Tarrant but a little Dallas County TX too.

Hi all! New here and I’ve already spent hours down the rabbit hole. I’m a body piercer and jewelry professional but I love rockhounding. I live in Arkansas and we are know for our quartz. I collect rocks literally everywhere I go so I can’t say for certain where I picked this up. I put it in my tumbler with a load and I check the rocks often during the process. This was in the tumbler with first stage grit for about 2 days. When I was doing my routine check, this rock really stuck out to me. I swear I see a bird embryo. Not only that but it feels 3 dimensionally like a bird body. I know the pareidolia is real with my brain but I’m kind of obsessing at this point so I need someone to bust my bubble.
