Wondering if anyone has any idea what these fossils might be. Sorry for picture quality. They are from Cuba, same quarry they find the megalodon teeth. Lower-Middle Miocene. Any help would be appreciated.

I decided to take a quick trip to some old collecting spots which I read about online. Apparently it was a good decision since nobody has been to them in a while and they seem to have been mostly forgotten since people are so busy in today's society these sites aren't picked over as much as some I have been to.

Hello, my name is Andres. I found this in "La Pedrera beach" in Uruguay. At first I had no clue of what it was. I'm prone to think it is a sponge fossil, but would want help in this matter. I found it vaguely buried in the sand close to the shore. The sand of that beach is grainy and loaded with lots of shells of many mollusc species. If it is indeed a sponge fossil, what species it would be? Thanks in advance!

Found this yesterday near Delaware Water Gap. At first I thought maybe a moth. However the shape and texture appears to be more feather like. Could this be from a small bird?

Hey all, just got back from big brook yet again. I've basically been driving up there every weekend. I'm still new, and want to learn more on what I am finding. These photos may not be anything at all, but I'd love for some of you to help ID them for me. Thanks all! Is this first pic coprolite? Looks identical on the other side.

OK, just Humor me, please - Tiny black tubular things on a rock
AshHendrick posted a topic in Fossil ID
I found this guy over the weekend, I just want to make sure it's not something cool... but I know there is a high chance of it just being a rock with little rocks stuck in it. I am curious if these little black tubes could be some sort of organism? I found these digging at GMR in Greenville NC and cannot say that this was pulled from any particular group/formation because I found it among a large amount of whale bone, shark teeth, enchodus tooth, shells and my buddy Rick also found some native american corded pottery in the spot too. So we are talking a range of time here that doesn't help narrow anything down. It was hard to photograph, I can get some better images with a digital microscope tonight if that would help/let me know where to focus at/on. They are on the top and bottom and sides (where it wasn't broken off) of this piece.- 12 replies
