Hi all, Anyone know what species/genus this bivalve steinkern is? It's from Rivière-sur-Tarn, a location in France that yields fossils from the Toarcian stage of the early Jurassic (approx 180 mya). Best regards, Max

I picked this up a while back. It was part of an old collection and identified as a coprolithe (aka coprolite). After rinsing it off and looking at it under the microscope, I'm thinking it is some sort of burrow. It contains what looks like invertebrate fecal pellets and fishy bits. I am trying to figure out what this little inclusion is. I was thinking it is a bit of fish skull or possibly a crustacean bit. Anyone recognize it? Thanks for your help!

I bought myself this purty fish for relatively cheap (under 25$). It is labeled as so: Aeduella blainvillei (Agassiz) Permian (Rotliegendes) Muse pres d'atun central France Are all these correct? (Muse pres d'atun means a museum close to Autun right?) anyone have any information on the locality, the fish, it's relatives (extinct or extant). Any papers or articles would help, I like to know a bit about specimens I own. i read the (translated) Wikipedia page and it didn't help a whole lot. The stone has other scales all over it, and the seller said there is a specimen on the back, but I guess it isn't all on the stone?

Hello everyone. I'm new to this forum. I love collecting fossils and I love paleontology but I'm not great at identification yet. I found this on the banks of the river Vilaine in Brittany in France. I believe it may be from a cloven hooved mammal. Would appreciate any ideas. Thanks, Jo

Elcoincoin's collection - part one : Albian of Troyes

The bad weather gave me time to spend some time classifying. so i spent some time on my albian stuff. Everything has been self collected (surface collected) over the years. Everything is also small, so i chose the screws cases to store them. Everything can be seen on a dedicated galery on TFF : here or in higher resolution on my flickr : here 8 cases... So here we go Ammonites : (3 cases) then crustaceans (2 cases) : Other inverts (2 cases) : And last one : vertebrate remains I hope you enjoy it. that's all for now.- 15 replies
