I found this tooth in the late Cretaceous North Sulphur River of Ladonia, Texas. I’ve yet to be able to identify this. Seems to be Pleistocene perhaps? Any ideas?? Thank you in advance!

Hi all! I went down to the North Sulphur River (Ladonia, Texas) after a big rain and found this small black specimen that looks like a set of vertebrae maybe? Fish? Any help would be appreciated.

This was found in a gravel bar on the North Sulphur River in Ladonia, Texas. (Late Cretaceous) I’m curious if it’s the paddle portion of a Plesiosaur? Very smooth bone that tapers down and becomes thicker on one side. Nearly 4 inches long. Any help is appreciated.

I carefully dug this very small tooth from the wall of the North Sulphur River in Ladonia, Texas. A few people have determined that it is not a mosasaur tooth. It has a straight root and the tooth is rounded and not flattened like a typical shark tooth. Any help on this little guy would be appreciated!

Before I toss this into the deep, dark box of unknown rocks...I’m wondering what kind of tooth (?) this might be? It’s from the North Sulphur River in Ladonia, Texas. Help? Thanks!!!

Good time at the North Sulphur River in Ladonia, Texas this weekend. Here are some of the things we found! I’m curious about the gray ammonite (bottom right). I’ve attached a few photos at the end (first two photos) to see if any of you know what the black line is running through it at the bottom. It reminds me of the vein in a shrimp!

Hello all! Sunday on the North Sulphur River in Ladonia, Texas was hot and dry, but still a great day!!! Friends found some beautiful arrowheads and shark teeth! Here are a few things from my trip! I believe I have here a piece of mastodon/mammoth tooth enamel, shark tooth?, bone chunks (not sure from what), a piece of flint??? Any ideas of the specifics? Thanks in advance!- 20 replies

I was down on the NSR this weekend and found this nice little 3 inch fossil. If any of you know the scientific name, please share! I thought it was really pretty. The NSR, I have to say, seems to be fairly picked over near the giant stairway. It was ridiculously hot down there this weekend and humid, so I was hesitant to venture off too far, but I'm assuming that the finds will be more plentiful if I start hiking away from the stairs when the weather cools down.

Hello from the Sunshine State. I am a 44 year old beach comber, along with my son we pull in a ton of (legal) material from the shores... mostly sharks teeth and odd bits of sea polished fossils. Here hoping to name a few odd finds as time goes by. Thank you for your time and efforts with this forum. TWCurtis.

I found this 1 1/2 inch piece in the North Sulphur River bottom (Ladonia, Texas) over the weekend. It has a layer of shiny yellowish brown in the center, and a thinner layer of the same material across the top. Somewhat porous. Any ideas?

I found this bone (?) fragment over the weekend in the North Sulphur River bottom. It's a little over an inch long. Any clue what it may have come from? I have another larger piece, but I don't think they are connected. I will post that as well.

Hello all- Anyone been to the NSR this year? I saw an earlier post but wondering if anyone else has been out there lately. Conditions? Is it worth going to the Ladonia Fossil Park or should I try to hit some other entry point? Thanks, Jeff

While in Texas I found quite a few things that could be just suggestive rocks but I have hope that they are actually fossils. It might just be my imagination but to me it looks like there is a hint of rings on one end of the first piece. Petrified wood maybe?

I am new to this forum, and have so enjoyed reading all your posts! I have learned so much! I made a solitary journey to Post Oak Creek this morning, after a meeting at work, and had a great time! The findings were modest, but it was a beautiful morning!!! I decided I would add to the chatter here, also see if I can post a picture, for a change, rather than only viewing. Have a wonderful week, all! Kay
