Hi new to forum, just starting to try to collect sharks teeth and fossils in Charleston County, SC - found this item on the shore and im sure its not a fossil due to color but curious.. thanks for any help- will hopefully have some real fossils or teeth in the future.

North Sulphur River find from 5/27/18 Think it's a vertebra but it's not one I recognize, its 4.75 inches wide, 3.25 inches high. Pretty badly beat up from rolling around the river.

My find found this at a recent quarry outing and is asking for a positive ID, it is cretaceous, pee dee formation, there is also eocene, castle hayne formation there. It is concave on one end and convex on the other end. Thinking croc or mosasaur ? Need some help please. Thanks.

Season's Greeting! I found this broken vertabrae earlier this year around Big Brook NJ - it is Cretaceous in age. It's roughly missing 1/3 to 1/2 of it and is worn but i was wondering if we can tell what it is? I was thinking Plesiosaur but I'm really not sure about that. Thanks!

This was sold to me as a plesiosaurus vert. Is this from a plesiosaurus or is it from something else? If so from what? Thanks for any info.

This was found a while back by a friend I was hunting with, busting open some rocks in the creek - nothing else was really in the rock but it was found with the usual GMR items washed into a gravel bed. There is a small vert attached to it but I am interested in possibly identifying WHAT bone that is attached to the vert and maybe even narrow it down to a type of fish (I assume it's fish). The bone attached reminds me of those tilly fish bones in texture/appearance. Any connection? 1- LOCATION Greenville, NC Greens mill Run. (Green Mill Run) 2- GEOLOGY/Formation Generally this location is part of the york town formation, Miocene-Pliocene-cretaceous 4- ASSEMBLAGE Shark teeth (mostly makkos, tiger near by) Belemnites and whale bone.

I have been working a Cretaceous site in Big Brook in Monmouth County in New Jersey for many Years now and found a lot of stuff in the past but never seen this little vert before and I have really now clue what it is... So any input or help would be great. The vert measures 15mm at it longest point.

Heyas, From the Pleistocene of Australia, this one. Is it a croc vert? I'll throw in a @tooth_claw as well, ha! Or is it a modern cow..? (Also a possibility, upon further research). Always a few melon scratchers.. Oh, and @Jesuslover340 as it is her find Cheers.

Found this last week on my trip to Texas, got to go for a few hours to Galveston and beachcomb near the dike. Didn't find much, but I believe I found my first shark vert? Please see pictures attached. If it turns out to be a vert, would it be possible to ID the shark species? Thank you!

So these are the pics from my last 3 hunts on the Bay the Megs seem to be hiding from the heat but other than that i killed it. First pic is last thursday second pic is last sunday third pic is from today and 4th is a closeup of the cow

I went up to my other property today just to go through some fossil stuff and bring back home. While there I ran into this little gem I got in a big box from some fossil dealer way back when. This comes from the shark tooth hill place. A cow shark tooth stuck onto a vertabre. I let my youngest son prep this out when he was about 10 years old. Today I took some Glyptal and soaked the tooth and the surrounding area with it. part of the root was EXSTREAMLY fragile and starting to fall apart. Even when I was applying the glue, even more came off!!! it was that fragile. I should have stable ized it years ago, but at least now it is much better. Just gave it to my son today. He was quite happy. RB

So I went to Brownville on the peace river, in fl, Today. Usually, I dig in an area fairly close to public access (foot). Today, I walked downstream about a mile, saw some big rock beds that looked like spoil piles, walking along I find a mammoth tooth right on top! On a dry bed! Looking a little further, I see a really big vert, half exposed! What a day! The mammoth tooth is strange, it covers the hand, but is small (not broken) The occlusal surface consists of about 6 ridges and valleys and is 2 1/2 inches thick by 4 inches wide. The only camera I have, at the moment, is my sucky laptop, sorry. The tooth looks whole, is it deciduous? Any thoughts on the vert? Cetacion? I will update this thread with better photos at some point. Could not believe my luck! Surface finds in a relatively, well picked area. The fossil Gods are good!
