Xiphosuran from Baltic Early Ordovician
D.N.FossilmanLithuania posted a topic in Fossil IDDear Guys, I recently found one small (5 mm width) and interesting specimen that can belong to primitive xiphosuran by the appearance of cephalothorax. It has not any jaws as trilobite and the preserved eye is merostomate like (not any small eyes but only protuberant area, similar to eurypterid or other chelicerate eyes). The rick is found in Varena town, South Lithuania and the age should be about 475 million years. Please help to confirm the primitive chelicerate if you could. Regards Domas
