Hello Everyone, I have had this beautiful Argentine theropod tooth for 18 months now and the previous owner 25-30 years before the ban was introduced. The locality information is a bit flakey, however I thought it would be worth a try to get some kind of ID if possible if there are any Argentine friends out there with some information to hand. I have taken some measurements as follows: Distal - 12 per 5mm Mesial - 12 per 5mm MCL - 18mm MCW - 10mm crown height - 39mm If any further measurements are needed let me know Thanks!

The Museo Paleontologico Egidio Feruglio- Trelew, Argentina
Jeffrey P posted a topic in A Trip to the Museum
Last week I spent ten days visiting Argentina. Most of that time was spent in Patagonia. Argentina does not allow any private fossil collecting, so this wasn't going to be that kind of trip. On our way back from visiting a penguin colony at Punta Tombo we stopped in Trelew whose number one attraction is the Museo Paleontoligico Egidio Feruglio. It primarily features fossils from Patagonia, dinosaurs and mammals, plus Permian age plants, petrified wood, etc. I got to spend a quick hour there and took some photos. Most of the labels were in Spanish and I didn't have time to take notes. Hope you enjoy what I was able to get: -
Hello, I joined this forum because I found something near a river in a forest from my province in the north of argentina. Maybe you can help me to find out if it's a fossil or not. Greetings

The majority of these berries are ground cherries from about 52 Ma years ago with the fruit fossilized. This is very rare to have so many specimens with the soft fruit still attached to the host. -

These three fish specimens are a little harder to see in the pictures but if you tilt the fossils just right you can see the outlines much better. These were only labeled "fish" so I have not researched the species of fish found thus far in Argentina. Out of context you would really have to look hard to see the fossils. Please let me know if I should shoot these a bit differently?- 2 comments

Once you start looking at this specimen the tiny Crinoid Ossicles just keep appearing. Worm holes have not been vacated. -
