Hey! I found some crystallized dinosaur bones and wood and was wondering what makes them crystallize, and if that makes them worth more?

One of my boys collected this strange joint bone fragment while we were at Calvert Cliffs yesterday. It has a shape we can't figure out--and it's completely hollow! It's too big to be bird (right)? So is there a natural process that could have hollowed it out like this? And what is it? Can anybody help?

Hey, Wondering if anyone could tell me what this bone is? I'm assuming Pachystropheus rhaeticus. Found at Blue Anchor, Somerset, UK, from the Rhaetian, Triassic, Westbury formation. It measures roughly 2cm long Cheers

Hello, I found this piece of bone in Manatee county, FL. It is 5” or 127 mm across the widest part. Looking for ID on bone if possible please and also wondering if it’s possible that the two little indentions on the flatter side are predation marks? thank you!

This is from my most recent trip to Post Oak Creek. I found some pretty nice shark teeth and some other random items. I also found several bones sticking out of the creek bed. It is obviously not fossilized but I wasn't sure if it was a modern cow or something older like a bison. Pictures 17 and 18 show were I excavated it from. It was right on the waterline and probably 10-12 feet down from the top of the river. I am planning on going back to excavate the rest to see if I can find the skull, teeth, etc. Also I have a ton of microfossil matrix I am going through. I have already found numerous other micro shark teeth and other oddities I will be posting soon as well. It is amazing how many fossils you can find in just a little bid of small gravel. Hiya all recently got this piece of fossil bone the seller was saying it’s plesiosaur but any help from you guys would be great it was purchased at Bristol but I’d imagine it’s from the Jurassic coast

A beautiful Friday at Stratford Hall in Virginia yielded few teeth, but a curious bone that matches one I collected on another occasion from the same spot. My gut says they are from the ear? Skull somehow? But I can’t find a good match... I’m hoping someone with more experience will recognize. Thanks !

Hello, I found this chunk of bone on a cliff on a beach in Ruwais, Abu Dhabi, UAE (United Arab Emirates). I know that identifying chunks of bone is difficult, but I thought that by it's size, weird vein markings? (fig.1), and sevreal holes running through the middle (fig. 2 and 3), that this would be more easily identified. I am thinking it might have belonged to some type of elephant. (Miocene in age)

I found this bone on the shore of the Wolf River in TN near the Dale Hollow reservoir. Curious to know what it might be. The bone looks fossilized but I have no idea. Any ideas what this might be?

I wanted to see if anyone could tell me what animal this bone may have come from. Probably a shot in the dark for a bone fragment but I thought I'd try anyways. I found this on the shore of a reservoir in Westminster, Colorado which is a suburb of Denver. I've also found petrified wood in the same area. Let me know if any other info would be helpful for an id. Thanks.

Greetings I found this bone in a river valley in Northeast British Columbia. It was fairly close to where I found some horse and bison fossils earlier (shown below). I have not been able to ID it so far. My Buddy from the Yukon suggested it might be a radius bone from a predator. Doesn't look like a cat, wolf or bear. It is river worn and when I shake it there is material rattling around inside. We have snow on the ground so my fossil hunting days are over for this year. Sad days. Any help would be appreciated. Hello! Im new to the Houston area Moved down from Virginia Beach, where fossilized shark, stingray teeth are common. Decided to walk along local creek found lots of interesting old bottles, pottery fragments, fossilized wood and shells, eventually came along three large fossilized bone fragments and one interesting partial fossil. The only fossils I’m familiar with are the shark teeth exc. common to my area help identifying these and knowledge on other common local fossils is much appreciated.

Hi, I went to Aust cliffs today. I brought back some material, and noticed these. Could they be bone fragments? They are probably not identifiable, but I think if they are bone fragments would most likely be from an Ichthyosaur or Plesiosaur. I think the one on the right isn't a bit of bone, rather an interesting bit of rock. Many thanks.

I’m lucky enough to live within walking distance to lots of fossils at Maslin Beach South Australia. The sites in this area are in coastal cliffs of limestone from the Eocene to Oligocene. I’ve found quite a lot of actual marine fossils here but this one I’m not sure about so it would be fun to get an answer from experts! I found this specimen in an exposed cliff face. It looks a lot like bone to me but I guess it could be a really interesting rock Thanks! Aarosaur

A guy I know has this: doesn’t know what it is. He’s in Indonesia and digs behind his village where he found this recently. I don’t have any info besides that. Rhino? Buffalo? I’m thinking buffalo. I’ll try and get more angles because I’m curious on the age. Thoughts?

This is my first post to this site and I thank you beforehand for any help you can give me with the ID of this piece of bone. I have been vacationing on Little Gasparilla Island for the last years. I am fascinated with the shark's teeth and other things that wash up. I am a surgical PA having both worked in Neurosurgery and now spine with orthopedics. I found this on my most recent trip and recognized it as bone immediately. It is about 3x2x2". The top and bottom appear to be cortical bone and the middle cancellous bone. I ran it by a few surgeon friends and we came up with nada.
