    Unidentified Bone With Teeth 1

This is a creek find from SW, MS. It was found amongst other types of teeth. It appears a cap (enamel) is missing from one tooth. Can anyone please identify it. Help is appreciated. Thanks in return.

    Large bone ID

Hi all! I’ve had this sitting on my shelf for some time without knowing what type of bone it is. Reasonably confident it’s a dinosaur bone but not sure. Any help is greatly appreciated! Thank you! Measures 5 1/2 inches by 3 3/8 by 2 inches thick

    Large vertebra

Found what looks like a vertebra fossil on Ponte Vedra Beach. Any ideas what it could be from? About 9 inches wide.
  6. Found this flipping rocks this afternoon. Curious if anyone has any ideas or takes. Location in title. Looks like some sort of bone to me. Any thoughts or resources would be appreciated!

    Curious finds. Possible footprint?

Here are a few pieces from my collection I have been wondering able about. Are any of these fossils? The one on the bottom left corner looks like it could be a footprint top me.
  8. Hello, I recently visited Yaverland on the Isle of Wight and found some material which may or may not be fossilised remains. I would be exceptionally grateful if someone would be able to tell be if these are fossil bone. Photos 1-2 are of the same rock from different angles. Photos 3-5 are also of the same rock. Many thanks, W

    Any idea what this is?

Hi - Any idea what this weird bone is? Found it in the surf across from where some unidentified mammal bones were found in the cliffs. Thanks!

    Calvert Cliff bone ID

I found mostly mollusk remnants on this last trip to Calvert Cliffs, but I did find this more intriguing find. I'm a former Austin, TX fossil hunter, so the switch over to Maryland hasn't been all that different (considering both were shallow oceans) except that in Maryland it's a lot more difficult getting access to fossil areas. What do you guys think? Eurhinodelphis? I did see a while back a full skeleton was removed from the cliffs. Thx

    Bone ID Help

Hello everyone! New member, long time lurker through the forums. I recently went hunting in North Central TX, within the Woodbine formation for the first time and picked up this bone [attached]. I'm stumped and would greatly appreciate any insight you may have, understandably it's a bit degraded. Thank you for your help and time.
  12. Hi all - any ideas on this fossil I found today? Google image search is giving me photos of snake skin. Is this coral, sponge, bone, or something else? Thanks!
  13. Hi everyone! Well, I have another weird Kem Kem bone, one of the last mystery bones in the batch. And I'm completely stumped. The closest thing I have to a guess is fish and that's only because fish seem to have a lot of weird looking bones around their skull. I don't have anything to compare it to. There's a lot of weird nooks and crannies on this piece so if you all need a better picture focusing on a specific area let me know. Measures 9.8 x 5.2 cm and thickness ranges from 2.8-1.7 cm Any insight is appreciated as always

    Basilosaurus

Found some suspected Basilosaurus material today. Buudy found a large vert. I found this partial rib bone. Cant complain!!
  15. Any idea if this bone is modern or fossil and what animal it belongs to? Found on the beach in the Netherlands. I think it's modern but it does have a very hard texture. Sometimes I feel very annoying with my posts on here as I am a beginner but I just want to make sure. Thank you!

    Pterosaur bone?

Just purchased this bone fragment that was sold as from an Azhdarchid pterosaur. I know it's not complete and it has a few repairs, but is it possible to tell if it's indeed from a Pterosaur. And if so, what part of the body might it be from? Wing bone? Toe bone? Locality: Kem Kem Beds, Morocco, El Begaa Bone size: 156 x 11 x 7 mm Weight: 14 g

    Interesting fossil found in Drumheller

Hello everyone This bone is from Alberta. The horseshoe canyon formation. This bone intrigued me because of the interesting way the pores are in the bone. From one side, you can see the pores go until right before the surface. On another side, there are patterns that seem to be like rings. Maybe they are just compressed pores? Any suggestions for what this is are welcome

    Bone fossil

I have found this thing next to the one small mountain river in Serbia. It looks like a bone, but feels like a stone. Is this a fossil?

    ID Help Peace River FL

I have been searching on line periodically for the last several days trying to identify this little fossil bone found in the Peace River, FL last week. I can't help but think I have seen something similar before. I just can't find it now. So, any input would be greatly appreciated. I have searched for "fish beak", "skull cap", "reptile", "turtle" , "bird beak" in various combinations, even looked at a bunch of hoof cores, mouth plates, etc. just to see if it was possible. Specimen measures: 32mm x 20mm x 9mm or 1 5/16" x 7/8" x 3/8" In this last photo I am trying to show what I think is an interesting pattern on what I am calling the underside. I played with lighting and positioning to try and make it visible. To me it looks like a tulip in the center of the fossil. Base of the stem at the bottom of the photo, leafs on either side 3/4 of the way up and then a "tulip" shaped top. Hope you can see it. Thanks!

    Lyme Regis verts ID

Hi all New member here - hope everyone is well? After 37 years of bone hunting at Lyme Regis (and witnessing my disinterested wife find all sorts of icthy and plesiosaur verts) I finally struck gold (metaphorically, not pyrite) and found the below in 45 minutes of glorious morning pre work searching. I was hoping someone might be able to help with ID, I’m guessing the single is icthy, the connected ones I am not sure if they are more plesiosaur? any views or pointers greatly received!
  21. Bringing Fossils to Life

    Bone ID

For the longest time I have puzzled over this strange bone. At first of course I thought it was a "Hynerpton scute," because I have a memory of finding it somewhat near where the holotype was found and no papers picture them, so I couldn't compare. Recently I've doubted its identity as I've researched Ichthyostega scales and scutes, but have no idea of what it actually is. Any ideas? On the imprint nearest to the camera a texture can be seen, shiny smooth with little circular rounded bumps that are the negatives of pores. Size a little less than 1.5 cm from end to end.

    The humerus of the Hadrosauridae?

Is it the upper arm bone of the Hadrosauridae? I draw the Forelimbs with the fossil preserved area (Red colour).

    Foot bone?

Found the below bone on the Peace River last week. It was just laying on the bottom on top of a limestone shelf and covered with algae. Was interested enough in what it might be to bring it home and clean it up a bit. The only thing I could find that matched size and shape was a proboscidean foot bone. I am curious to see if anyone can make an ID. Specimen measures: 4" x 3.75" x 1.5" or 110mm x 95mm x 35mm Any input/suggestions on a possible idea would be appreciated. Thanks! Jim W.

    Ankylosaur or Ceratopsian?

Can anyone please ID this piece, @Troodon? Could it be an Ankylosaur osteoderm or maybe Ceratopsian?
  25. Hello everyone. I recently moved to central Tennessee on the Cumberland Plateau where I have been enjoying hunting stone points in the creeks and woods.
