Hello everyone! I want some advice. I have limited birthday money, and I was wondering whether this Cave Bear jaw is worth buying, or whether I should save up over two times more to get a slightly more complete one. It is quite a good price for its size. Or should I get what is being sold as a Globidens jaw (I am slightly sceptical) of which I only have one image. That jaw is a bit cheaper than the first cave bear jaw. I’ll get the Globidens jaw image from my dad. That is the first Cave Bear jaw

A pond was dug out to use the dirt as a base for a barn I’m building. While walking around on the job site I found this tooth. Can anybody help with some identification?

I was told by one of my professors that this is a skull from a Miocene cave bear from Nebraska, but it looks exactly like a Merycoidodon skull to me.

Hi all, does anyone know why fossils from Cave bears usually are very lightly colored? The dentin and enamel in their teeth also look like they've hardly even been fossilized.

I'm interested in this Cave bear proximal phalange but I'm unsure if it's authentic or not, or if it is indeed U. spelaeus or another species of Ursus. Found in Austria.

Pleistocene Juvenile Cave Bear Jaw
Lucid_Bot posted a topic in Is It Real? How to Recognize Fossil Fabrications
This is a Pleistocene Cave Bear jaw from Romania. I'd like to know if this is authentic and if there has been restoration? Thanks. -
Saw this listing for sale and considering buying it, looks like a partial cave bear skull, could anyone verify? Also there are strange marks on it, which the seller believes to be scavenger marks, want other opinions on those. It was found in a Hungarian Cave deposit.

Found this today in Southeast Texas Pleistocene alluvial deposits. I'm not sure if it's a tooth or a claw and to what it might belong to or the age...can anyone help?

Cave Bear Paw Genuine?
Kittenmittens posted a topic in Is It Real? How to Recognize Fossil Fabrications
Hello all, looking for some opinions on this piece. Not worried about it being composited as long as it is all real cave bear bone and nothings cast. Thanks in advance and happy New Year! -

Can anyone help me to identify this skull?? It came from China 30 years ago and appears to be a young cave bear but I am not 100% positive. I thought it may be a bear-dog or Hyaenodon type of canid but the snout is too short. A percrocuta was also a thought, but they seem extremely rare. Any information would be gladly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Hello everyone, I’ve recently purchased what’s said to be a 13 inch cave bear jaw. I’ve been doing research and I’m finding it difficult to tell the difference between a cave bear and a short face bear jaw. Does anyone have any insight, could this jaw be easily misidentified? kind regards Dylan

Good evening fossil folks, I found a small bone on a Tampa Bay beach on the west coast of Florida. After doing some research I saw similarities to a cave bear toe bone and/or bison. It's approximately 1" x 3/4" and very worn with a baseline crack. I have 7 photos of different angles. Can you ID? Thanks all!

Hello, recently purchased a bear paw from an online store. It was advertised as 20% restored from an old collection. The paw seems coated or painted with something and I am trying to figure out what it is. There are a few chips where it is yellow tanish underneath the "coating". Last picture is theirs and the rest I took. Thanks for the help in advance.

I just finished up a display case for my dad's cave bear tooth. It will go on the wall. The background is an old diagram of a cave bear jaw; I have digital copy. I printed it on card stock at shutterfly.com. It is really lovely. I think the card stock looks a lot better than the regular print for this; with a coupon, it was free. The shadowbox frame is a very nice one I got at Micheals; with a sale and a coupon I got it for about $7. It is 8x10 and front opening. I drilled a hole in the back of the frame and put in a copper wire loop for holding the tooth. The tooth is removable. The image I used is attached below, feel free download it to print your own. I have one extra copy of the image printed on card stock, if someone wants it to make their own, I'll send it to you if you pay postage. Can't promise the USPS won't bend it though.
