I have found many of these fossils in Pennsylvania. They look like fossilized mud beds with hundreds of small star like, round, and flower shaped trace fossils. Looking for any information on these.

I’m posting some pics of what I believe to be a cluster of Crinoid calyx. I’ve found a few such as these . All in a cluster and all seem to be covered in calcite. Looking forward to hearing what you think. It was found in a creek in Jefferson county Missouri. It is 5”x5”. The creek is amazing. I can’t describe it so I’ll post a few more pics. It’s been awhile since I’ve been such a rookie so bare with me. Thanks

Good evening again!. Amazing what you can find jut scanning shale after shale! I find multiple clusters of conodont segments and denticles but tonight's find is potentially very exciting!. Surrounding the elements is a finely granular, uniform, brown matrix which is not shale (arrow) and not sediment (at least my thought . I see this on occasion in shale but this is the first time I've found it uniformly surrounding conodonts. to me it appears organic. Thoughts? thanks so much again!!! Bone

Going through my great grandpa's rock collection and came across a piece that is mostly made up of shells. One side is smooth the opposite side is rough. Just wondering what it is and any info about this type of fossil.

After a month of needle work, finally finished. This cluster is 65x30cm and I love it, lots of work but I just enjoyed it so much that I am sad it is finished Nothing to work on now This was my first work on a fossil and even though quite scary, very rewarding. I am definitely not stopping here. Besides 29pc of shark vertebrae I managed to expose many other fish vertebrae and bone fragments but the highlit must be an Enchodus tooth. Thank you all for your advise and helpful info on this project.

I was scouring over a plate I recently collected and noticed this "face-like" feature. Any ideas? Sorry couldn't get extreme close up as the iPhone camera isn't great for that.

On my trip to Florida I went to rucks pit and found some fossils and crystal clusters. If I haven't forgotten they were calcite crystals? But why don't they fizz when I put them in the acid bath? Only the limestone fizzes, I see very little damage to the crystal. PS. The acid bath was citric acid AKA. lemon juice.

All found in the same area in NE Oklahoma near a river. Any info would be appreciated since I don't know much about fossils. Is the brown on pic #5 something? I know the basic ones like crinoids and the obvious brachiopod or gastropod. Or any info on polishing up some of the smaller chunks? I seen a couple of posts about brass brushes. (I didn't want to create multiple posts to the ID and Preparation forums, just let me know if I should.) Sorry about the pics that are blurred. And that's not all of them. I still have these to go through...
