Hello i went to a place in the desert near Riyadh with limestone geology and found this bizarre crystal. I accidentally broke it and the broken surface was like a mirror and super sharp and smooth, it is definitely not quartz and I don’t know what it is. what could it be?!

I have this really interesting piece in my collection. Got it for what seems like a steal. Its a tiny coil of snake vertebrae but the matrix seems to be some sort of crystal. Has anyone seen anything like this? No similar images come up when searching for snake vertebrae.

Hi, I found this crystal In Middle Georgia. I was wounding if anyone knows what type of crystal it is. The hardness test mostly at 7 but there are some places that test at the hardness of 8 and then there are a few places it test as diamond. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

This is a tusk I prepped a few years ago, sourced from central Alaska. It was in great shape for being a partial, no breaks to repair or even major cracks to fill, all natural besides a little stabilization and polishing to bring out the colors. Really strong vivianite on this one and inside the internal cavity appears to be crystals. It was tricky to get a good photo of them, but see below. I took a few of the inside shots with a UV flashlight as well as just a flash. Vivianite crystals?

Not my find but noticed this one on Reddit. What do you think. Seems to be too much coincidence. My best guess a real skull covered in some deposits either marine or cave in origin.

Crystalline... Sponge? (Little Current, Manitoulin Island, Ontario)
CabinTom posted a topic in Fossil ID
Found along the shore of the North Channel at Little Current, Ontario. Large, bumpy nodule which seems to be completely formed of (calcite?) crystals all the way through (I'm surprised by the multiple colours, but maybe that's normal?). I'm assuming it's a sponge, though wondering if someone could give a more specific ID or perhaps explain the crystallization seen here.- 2 replies

Carboniferous wood with crystals for trade
Svetlana posted a topic in Member-to-Member Fossil Trades
Hello. I offer for trade fragments of petrified wood of the Carboniferous period with crystals of smoky quartz. Some samples are in the photographs (I did not upload all the samples I have, since there are quite a few of them - of different sizes and qualities, as well as the sizes of the crystals themselves. I think we can agree on what specifically interests you - I have no doubt that I will find the sample you need). The origin of this wood is Ukraine, its age is Carbon. I'm interested in marine reptiles and petrified wood. Thank you. Have a nice day-

I found this fossil on our property in Puriscal, Costa Rica. I found it on the ground after moving some dirt from the berm next to a ditch. This ditch was dug by hand for us several years ago. The previous owner backhoed this area to flatten it. but couldn't go any farther due to the enormous rock. I am posting here because I want opinions if this is petrified wood, or bone. It measures about 10cm long, diameter about 8cm. There is a crystal formation on one end.

Went out to Grapevine lake to check out the water level after all the rains, I rarely bring back anything, there's only oysters and gastropods by the dam and I couldn't get that close. This rock caught my eye, looked like it might have something in it. It wasn't until I got home and looked at it with loop that I saw the crystals, really hesitate to use that word because I've never seen any kind of crystalization in this part of woodbine. As far as I know no kind of fish fossils are here but that's my only thought, something fishy like fins. Most of them have an opalescent shine that's hard to photograph, and it does look like something is inside. I don't know what to make of it but hoping someone does. Close ups are of the smaller circle. Thanks for looking!

I found this in the parking lot of gravel at a power plant I worked at in Taylor, Az. Thinking it was a dried up carrot, lol. I kicked it and realized it was a bit hard to be a carrot, I picked it up and noticed a crystal through the center. I've searched and still can not find one so vivid in color and absolutely none so far with a crystal through the center. Can anyone tell more about this and how rare it is with the crystal in it.

Should I go through the process of trying to clean up the large crystal or not? The were garnets I found in north eastern utah near Flaming Gorge. If I should clean it, what can I do to best preserve it?

This is not a joke, I'm not trying to get attention, I want people to know the truth so that they can form their OWN conclusions based on scientific fact. What I'm presenting has not been tampered with as to fool you. I have kept it minimal. If you are really interested then you must see it in person. I'm near Reserve, NM. FACT: A HEART CAN BE CRYSTALLIZED. FIRST IMAGES - Illustration of heart filled (taken from youtube video "heart anatomy"), then heart emptying, then heart empty). Notice the shape of the heart when emptied. I bet a lot of you didn't know that. I didn't either. The crystal is heavy for it's size. It is about 8.5 inches from top to bottom. 5.5 inches wide. 4.5 inches depth. I just washed it with water and then coated it in mineral oil. Anatomically correct crystal (amethyst) heart. What is amethyst made of? Fe3... Where is Fe3 found? In blood? Yep. The bottom of the heart is a it should be... the base is where it broke from the diaphragmatic surface and you can see the attachments. I'm could go on and on but I'm just gonna post this and see what happens. Unfortunately the wildfire nearby is obstructing my main interest in obtaining photographs of... something big. Watch for my next post of Mayan (not really sure, meso-american then?) Crystallized artwork

Hi. My mother has this large rock. It’s got a greasy sheen to it. The entire rock is crystal but the inclusions are a red/pink dirt. My gem tester puts it in the jade/spinel or topaz categories. It’s not like a piece of quartz that we have seen before. Any ideas of what this could be?
