hi guys i recently purchased a nice set of ptychodus teeth from the cenomian chalk of Wilmington,Devon, was told that they were likely associated, any help would be good, im thinking either ptychodus marginalis or mammilaris

Taxonomy according to Fossilworks.org. Characteristics of the genus according to Südkamp 2017, p. 110: “The cup is cone-shaped. The arms are very long, unbranched and without pinnules. They consist of elongate elements. The anal sac is arm-like. The round stem consists of low elements proximally.” T. elongatus is characterized by arms that can be more than 20 times the height of the cup. Identified by oilshale using Südkamp 2017. Hey all! I was visiting the Jurassic Coast in Devon yesterday and found these 3 fossils (I think) under the rocky cliffs on Lulworth Cove in Devon, England. ..does anyone know what they might be please? I have labelled each one 1, 2 and 3 and number 3 has 3 pictures attached; 3a,3b,3c. Unfortunately this is larger and a more difficult shape of rock to photograph. any help or advice on the ID of any of these would be great. PS. I am an amateur and have no idea if they even are fossils, but it would be exciting if they were. Thanks again for any help!

Hello, I’m new to the forum and to fossils so please forgive my inexperience. I found this a few weeks ago on Sidmouth beach in Devon, south west England amongst the pebbles and shells on the sand. It is very light weight (22.5g) and a blue/grey colour. The interesting thing to me is its weight, and the notable grooves and holes. I’m not even sure if it really is a fossil but any insight would be really appreciated! many thanks.

Hi there, My son (11) has found what he believes to be a piece of Amber, while we were fossil hunting on the Jurassic Coast. Can anybody tell us if this could be Amber, it's definitely not glass. Also, what is the best method to try to clean it up? We'd like to try to polish it up. Thanks in advance, Adrian and Henry

Old time Devonian coral specimen from Devonshire, UK. Frechastraea

Specimens of corals from the Devonian limestones of Devonshire in England are hard to come by nowadays - this is one I've just bought and repolished. It's likely to be a 19th century sample from when the quarries and marble trade were flourishing - many such pieces were sold then as scientific specimens, and many more were used decoratively. Frechastraea sp. , Givetian/lower Frasnian, Torquay area. The brass scale bar is 1cm long.
