So got out fossil hunting for a couple hours today in Washington, PA and found some new stuff, some better examples of previous finds, and a lot of the same... Some of which I still had to pick up but didn't go overboard... lol. I would like to start with something I picked up on the way back to my car. First one of its kind I have found at this site. Thoughts? In trying to adjust my eyes for more 2 or 3D plant fossils I found these. The second I have found a similar piece of in the past that was ID'd as an inner layer of a plant fossil. This is a new piece so welcome to any new thought on that or this other one... More to follow...

So I have found a couple more ostracod pieces. Sadly small pieces and very fragile.... The loupes I ordered came in the mail so tried to snap a couple shots, starting with my original pieces (have positive and negative). This isn't a great pic and hoping to get better ones tomorrow. It is through a 5x loupe. Will add future ostracod pics to this post!

To those that saw my ostracods on the strata post, after I split away the very crumbly layers at the top I found this! Thankfully this layer is much harder so don't have to worry about breaking it! lol Dunkard group in Washington, PA. Need help ID'ing... Thought calamite initially but not convinced... Thanks!

So despite the good weather I sadly didn't have time to fossil hunt this weekend... Pulled over into a construction site I recently visited and grabbed 3 large rocks. My daughter was in the car so parked next to a pile of rubble. This is the first one I tossed in the back, same rock I found my last calamites impressions in. . Decided going to practice splitting on this one... Then saw what I think is a coal layer? Grabbed 2 pieces and the first started crumbling as soon as picked it up. The destinct layers split like this...
