So I have collected innumerable fossil shells, mostly Pennsylvanian, and this is the first shell/bivalve I've found with a bore hole. I know modern moon snails and other mollusks do this nowadays, but what species did this back then?- I know its impossible to say what caused this one, and I could use help on the i.d. of the bivalve. Very successful couple of days fossil hunting! I was all about fossils as a kid and I was pleased that that "air of wonderment and fascination" is still there when I find any fossil now!.......see, there's a silver lining to Covid! Bone
