Ancient human footprints discovered by B.C. family on vacation in South Africa
Paciphacops posted a topic in Fossil News
Nice to see discoveries like this by dedicated avocational paleontologists! Who would think to look on the ceiling of caves for ancient footprints? I've always wanted to find my own triassic/jurassic footprints and looking for a suggestion or two. I live by the Riker Hill area where extracting dinosaur footprints is now prohibited and it's a bummer. So, does anyone know of a place nearby where I can try finding my own footprint legally?

Hey y'all just started a job on a ranch and they have a very nice theropod trackway. Has at least 10 tracks maybe more. Some are covered by cast off from a mountain. Im fairly sure they are Jurassic but still need to get better gel maps of the area. Anyway my question is what is the best stuff to make a cast of a couple of them. I know plaster of Paris but as with anything is there some new super bad stuff out there? thanks much

From New Brunswick Canada. I saw these. One appears to be bamboo looking. The other was big rock on ground with what appeared to be footprints of different size. The larger one was no bigger than palm of hand. Besides footprint, something almost look like dog or pig head. Was just curious to know if they were actually fossils. the bamboo pic didn't load. I will have to add new topic. sorry am new

Hi, I found this rock in late cretaceous deposits near Malaga while looking for fossils in the hills. It is quite a lump that I managed to get back in my case, but the footprints are about an inch long. Four fairly clear, and a few not so visible. There is no sign of a tail track, which I imagine would show up as the prints are so clear. Can anybody give me any idea as to what the creature might have been? I have tried to research it but can't make any progress. Thank you.

I thought I would share these pictures with you from the recent track finds in North Texas. These pictures where shared with me, so I can't identify everything in them but can verify they are authentic.

Hi All, Well it's about time I post something from Holland and no... it's not sharkteeth Here are some of the possible footprints one can find in the classic Winterswijk locality covering the Anisien Triassic period. Although it's called muschelkalk it really is not.. not in the sense of the muschelkalk we have in Germany.. They are Procolophonichnium haarmuehlensis, a small trackway with tens of footprints from a tiny creature... reptile? Second is a larger Rynchosauriodes Paebodyi. Trackways from this reptile are very rare and due to the creatures size... impossible to bring home I have more at home.. will post if you like em
