Hey fossil friends. I found this worn vertebra earlier in the year When forum member @DanJeavs prepared this for me it revealed a very rare find for the Whitby coast. It is either a Plesiosaur or Pliosaur backbone. Anybody know what the difference is?

My daughter found this fossil in a creek bed this morning. Can anyone tell me anything about it? What it is? How common? etc. It is on a stone approx. one foot sq. and the fossil itself is approx. eight inches long. Really well defined as you can see. Thanks for any info!!!

Just curious, My grandparents have some farmland in alabama. after my grandpa cleared a creek with his bulldozer he found a huge deposit of what my biology professor has identified as ammonite fossils. there are atleast a thousand fossils in just the land he has overturned in a one acre radius. How rare is this? considering the fossils were found in a 10 foot steep slope i assume there are many more in the area. p.s. i will have some pictures on here after they mail me a few, they seem to be in decent condition.
