Hi there :) I work at a cemetery and today noticed what appears to be a fossil in one of the stones around a grave. I was wondering if anyone could help me out figuring out what it is? My colleagues have apparently been talking about it for ages but havent been able to settle the matter. The "fossil" is sort of protruding slightly from the clean cut stone, which at first made me think it was some sort of family logo or even a production marker or something. But it DOES sort of look a bit like the inner bits of a squid. Though, as my name suggests, I am a complete newbie in this world. Just curious to learn Thanks in advance for any help you can provide

Hi I have a fossil I found while exploring an area near Dubbo NSW australia. I taught it was just petrified wood until I cleaned it and notice on one end has colour and looks like it could have fish fins on the side. The length is 300mm and width is at its widest point 180mm. It was just sitting on side of a dirt track and also has another part to it which I will pick up next time I'm out that way again. Any help in identifying what I have here would be much appreciated as I wouldn't have a clue other than what I think it is. Thanks

This was given to me many years ago by a Texas fossil hunter, of course I didn't write down what he said it was or where it came from and haven't seen anything that resembles it except my box turtle which it definitely is not. Hoping someone recognizes it and this time I will make note!

Dactylioceras commune, Parkinsonia parkinsoni, & Protocardia truncata?
kellogg76 posted a topic in Fossil ID
I found these as a child in 1983 in Burton Bradstock,Dorset (UK). While there I happened to bump into a collector who quickly looked at them and wrote me a note on his quick guess at identifying them. Can someone take a look and let me know if his estimate was correct, any help identifying them is greatly appreciated. From the Great Oolite Series ~170Mya Ammonite, probably Dactylioceras commune Ammonite, probably Parkinsonia parkinsoni - Bivalves - The ridged, triangular one possibly belongs to the Cardia group, perhaps Protocardia truncata. -
Texas, Cretaceous age. I am thinking this is a bone. Did some sanding and found blood vessel structure, can someone confirm if it is? Also, how can I tell if its dinosaur or marine reptile?

I have no idea if this is even a fossil, but this looks unlike any rock I’ve ever seen and I’d really appreciate some clarification on what it could be? I’m pretty sure I found it in a river near Scariff, County Clare, Ireland.

Hello all, Today I found two teeth and my girlfriend 1 tooth. Could anyone help us identifying the teeth? I thought Horse and Bison or Cow. But the teeth are quite big. And the big bone (second pic) what kind of animal is it?

Hi all, I recovered this split tooth from Big Brook park in Monmouth, NJ (late cretaceous). I've checked a couple websites that give information on Big Brook, and I can't conclude either way if it is mosasaur or croc (or similar to a croc). I included close-ups to show enamel, and held it to show the shape of the tooth towards its root. Thanks, Steve
