Found this rock whilst walking along a beach in Jersey in the Channel Islands, I’m no expert but my instincts are telling me it was a plant rather than a creature of any kind. Hope someone can enlighten me.

Hi- we are new to this forum and have great interest in finding out what we picked up this weekend after Hurricane Dorian on the beach in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. We actually drove from Ohio Friday night to look for sharks teeth and came home with a few (nothing sizely this visit) and this piece of what we believe to be fossilized tusk.

Just a question regarding the resin transfer method. I’m looking at a Keichousaurus fossil that I am considering purchasing. While the fossil looks good the seller has stated that the matrix was very unstable and he utilized the resin transfer method to stabilize the matrix. How effective is this method? The matrix looks very thin to me and any inquiries have gone unanswered. I do not have any photos of this specimen but I can direct anyone interested via pm to the very popular site the specimen is selling on. If that’s not a violation of forum rules. Thanks.

New fossil hunter here! I recently moved to Florida for graduate school and was quickly introduced to fossil hunting. I've been addicted ever since. Here are some images of the first fossils I've found here in North Florida. Mako for sure, but can anyone confirm what kind of bone I have? I'm thinking it *could* be mastodon rib, but that's just an amateur's guess. Anyways, I'm excited to continue showing my finds! Baby meg pictures to come...

Hi to Forum members; I am an amateur rock collector who likes to look for fossils. For the most part I have not found anything fantastic but I am hopeful. I kindly request any information and or comments about a recent flint specimen from my back garden in Ipswich, Tuddenham Road. I have other photos of the flint that show unusual structures. On those photos, I used my photo app to adjust the exposure to get more fine detail. If it will help, I would gladly share. Also from my back garden, I found a petrified seed/pod/nut shell. Can someone help me identify what it is. May thanks! Munchy2

I wish I could follow the rules and give you a picture on a plain background, but we had to leave it where we found it as it was on federal land, so this is all I have. We went camping as a family to The Pines Recreation area near Glasgow Montana on Fort Peck Reservoir. My 8 year old son, who wishes to be a paleontologist, and collects every rock he sees, found this in the reservoir. I told him we would take a picture and see if any of our friends knew what it was, but since it was found on the Charles M Russell Wildlife refuge, we couldn't take it with us. One of our friends on facebook told us to check out baculites, and I think that MAY be what it is, but just wasn't sure. Hello everyone, This is my first post here. I live near Chattanooga, TN, and consider myself fortunate to live in this area due to its scenic beauty and recreational opportunities. We've come a long way in the last 30 years, and I would encourage anyone who wants an outdoor adventure to come here and check us out. Now, fall's coming, and with that may come cooler weather, which means a great time for outdoor activities. I would like to go fossil hunting close to home. We're in a pretty geologically diverse area here, though most of the knowledge from my college Historical Geology class taken over 25 years ago seems to have deserted my brain. But we have alot of chert, limestone, sedimentary rock, mountains, rock outcroppings, and the famous Chattanooga Shale formation. There is also the drive up Hwy 111 onto the plateau. One the way up, I've seen more than a few shale outcroppings that appear to have just barely missed turning into coal. So, for those in the know, are there some good fossil hunting areas in the Chattanooga area or within an hour's drive? Finding a trilobite would be a great prize, but I've found small crinoid stem fossils in my gravel driveway. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you, -William

Hey guys. So my friend recently gave me this awesome fossil canine tooth from China. Unfortunately the tooth has been very badly glued back in 2 different places after it was broken. I would like if possible to know how to remove glue, superglue in this case so I can reglue it properly. I would not like to risk the tooth being irreversibly damaged... Do you guys know how and if I could do that? Thanks for any imput. Kind regards, Thomas

Hallo, in diesem Jahr fand ich ein problematische fossilen im Steinbruch von Bungenäs, Gotland / Schweden (Slite-Gruppe, Wenlock, Silur), hat jemand eine Idee, was das sein könnte? Meine erste Idee war , dass es ein Fragment eines Kopffüßer sein könnte , aber ich bin nicht shure! Grüße Uli
