So I am thinking of getting this trilobite. The seller seems fine with nice specimens. This one though because it doesn't have a finding crack (I asked him in a message and indeed there isn't one) I was a little hesitant to proceed as I have heard that it is important for the originality of a Morocan trilobite to have one. I need some opinions on this matter.

Could anyone help me identify this plant material from the terrestrial Wealden Cretaceous of the Isle of Wight. Found east of brook bay in a plant debris bed. It’s about 2cm and has an odd spikey structure I haven’t seen before. Not like the pine cones commonly found around here. it looks to be a fragment of whatever it is.

This fossil has been found on the shores of Lake Huron, in the Grey Bruce county area in Ontario, Canada. I’d like to know what species you think this shell fossil belongs to. I know little about fossils but find them fascinating. Thanks for your help in advance.

The Photos attached are the last of the 5 fossils I have been unable to identify in the last 2 years. This fossil has also been found on the shores of Lake Huron, in the Grey Bruce county area in Ontario, Canada. I like this fossil a lot, as you can see the exposed bottom of the fossil, as well as the exposed side of the fossil, with the rest trapped in the rock. Any thoughts on what creature this could be? Perhaps a muscle or large barnacle?

This is number 3 of the 5 fossils I have been unable to identify in the last 2 years. This fossil has been found on the shores of Lake Huron, in the Grey Bruce county area in Ontario, Canada. I am not entirely sure if this even is a fossil, but it’s a unique pattern of holes in this rock that make me think there was biological matter that rotted away leaving many small imprints. Curious to hear your thoughts.

I bought this opal as a boulder wood fossil from Australia. I see that it has a few snails and possible a piece of a bone (the first image). it is a microscopic image. The length of the specimen is about 3 cm. Thank you!

I've been trying to vary my ammonite collection with some rarer found species. I still have plenty of gaps to fill but I've got plenty of searching time ahead of me yet I'm also quite picky with which specimens I keep for my own collection, hence the small number. Hello, I posted a front and back pic of two teeth. They are alot larger than the average teeth I have . The smaller one is about 3/4 " . I wondered if anyone could Identify. Also its not very pointed . Thank you ahead . mark

I found this in a landscaping bed in Des Moines, Iowa. I think it's made of some kind of shale because the breaks in the rock are very clean. However, I am not a geologist. Thoughts?

CANADA: Is this a REAL MEGALODON Tooth??

Hi there, I am hoping some experts could help me determine if this tooth is real or not. I did some research and it appears to be a megalodon tooth (possible fake?) from the Pungo River Formation. I found it at a thrift shop and my Fiance was pretty annoyed I would spend so much on a fake tooth. It is odd to find at a thrift shop/red cross so that is why i am asking as well... Curious what you guys think this could be worth if you in fact think it is real.. i measure the longest point from the tip to the root edge at just over 5.5" (its difficult to show this in a picture). As a non-expert, I feel this could be real as it is fairly heavy, it does not seem like something cast in a single mold, the coloring is imperfect like it is natural and there are alot of different textures. The root is rougher, the enamel is very smooth and the part under the enamel looks like what i would think as bone. Super curious what everyone thinks! My fiancé is not too happy about me spending [price removed] on a fake tooth... HELP!

Found in little creek around town, late Ordovician period in Southern Ontario, absolutely stumped on what it is. Any ideas are welcome, thanks in advance! Sorry for the low quality photos, these are the best I could get, fossil is 1cm (Long) with little groves.

Hello everyone, I visited a beach in the Netherlands and I collected some things that I thought had the chance to be fossilized. I want to ask if the next specimens in the pictures I will post are fossilized seashells, modern ones, just rocks? And what kind of seashells they are in case they are fossilized. Thank you!
