Hi, we found these recently at Bog Brook Preserve (NJ) and wondered if they could be fossilized vertebrae or something else? I will admit that we are new and sometimes wonder if we are seeing things that aren't there! :-) Because we found these at a known fossil site and they have very interesting shapes...we wondered what they could be. Thanks for any help!

New here and don't really know much about fossilized bone, but would appreciate any help in identifying this found in the central coast area of CA. This vertebrae is about 6" tall and 4 1/2" in diameter.

Found in Waxahachie Texas - Austin Chalk Formation - March 2013 8 inches long - 2 inches wide 5 complete vertebrae and a few pieces - still finding other pieces scattered in area Can see portion of spinal cord fossilized on bottom it's solid - very heavy Second pic is before I found a fifth vertebrae piece - but it shows depth better.
