Could this be a fulgurite? It does not appear to be magnetic, so I hesitate to think that it’s man made.

I believe I have found a huge fulgurite. It was located in the Western central Florida area. The stone is hollow and all tubes connect. The tubes do not appear to have crystals inside them. It weighs around 100 pounds and is over 3 foot long. Everything I have researched tells me this is a very large fulgurite. The reason I am unsure is because of its large size and hardness. It appears to be made of chert or something simular. Any help in identifying this would be greatly appreciated.

Hello again, This is an interesting find found at the causeway in Tampa Bay, Florida last year. Looks like calcite covered coral or a sand fused fulgurite which I'd prefer to add to my collection, lol. What do you guys think? Thanks!

A few months ago, I asked our forum members if they had any weather related specimens that I could talk them out of. My purpose was to create a display of such material for my son, who has his bachelors degree in meteorology (also has a masters in disaster resiliency ). I actually found these ripple marks in the Cambrian sandstones of western Wisconsin and the lovely @Khyssa provided me with fulgurite examples. So in honor of Khyssa's donation, I am posting the results of my creation.

I found in Corolla N.C. not sure what type animal. It's very strange. One on the right is a piece of fulgurite. I have many fossils that I would like help with. Will be posting soon. Thank you and happy fossil hunting.. ohh. My father was a coal miner for over 33 yrs. He is the reason I became interested in fossils. He often brought home many he would find 300 feet below the ground. Thanks Dad.
