Ive been trying to find some new fossil sites in the local area here in Fife, Scotland, recently and a few days ago came across an exposure of a volcanic neck thats errupted through through the Lower Carboniferous sedimentary beds probably sometime in the mid Carboniferous. The basalt was brecciated and hydrothermally altered higher up and there were plenty of fallen blocks full of vugs with nice honey calcite, smoky quartz and the odd bit of amethyst. Had a good rumage around and eventually came across something a bit different, a nice big vug lined with first honey calcite then small calcite dog teeth up to 10mm with a coating of druzy quartz speckled with little sphere's of goethite and a few bigger pieces of cubic calcite. There must be more of this so I'll need to head back for a look again soon.
