  1. Hello, i have a question : are herbivore fossils rarer than theropod fossils? Because i saw many theropod fossils, but nearly no herbivore fossils on the fossil markets, which makes me wonder .

    Unknown molar

I found this tooth in my family’s storage in North Carolina years ago and have always been curious about it. I was hoping someone here could help me identify what animal it belonged to and how old it might be, or at least point me in the right direction to answering these questions. I really know nothing about it, I don’t even know if it qualifies as a fossil or if it’s just a very well worn tooth. Thank you in advance for your help!
  3. Hello, I found a seller on online auction site with a lot of cool looking things from northeast China but no IDs for their fossils. The herbivore looks a lot like a sus scrofa piece I have from Florida, I have no thoughts on the carnivore. I'd like to ID before buying if possible. Thanks for any help!

Herbivore tooth - fossil or not?

I am trying to find out if this herbivore tooth is fossilized or not, and what animal it is from. It was found on a sandy beach in Gloucester, MA. Any ID help would be appreciated. If it is old or fossilized, wouldn't it be more worn down? I'm not that familiar with horses, if that's what it is. Tooth is wet in one photo. Thanks in advance!

Some of my herbivorous dinosaur teeth. I need to fix a couple of the labels, as I've recently learned that "Tegana Formation" isn't actually a thing.

    Herbivore tooth?

I found this strange tooth in Lance formation matrix. It is very small so I apologize for my image quality. Not sure what to make of it maybe some herbivore dinosaur tooth or lizard tooth? It’s .1875 inches. Interested to see what other people think. Thanks

    ID Moroccan herbivore claw

Hi everyone, I recently stumbled upon a dinosaur claw from the Kem Kem formation in Morocco. It dates to the Late Cretaceous. By the flat bottom and lack of a sharp point it clearly belonged to a herbivore. I am aware that there is very little documentation on fossils from this area, especially wen it comes to herbivores. Yet I was wondering of someone might know to what (general) species or family this claw could belong. Similar claws from other geographical areas are more then welcome as well for reference. Note: the scale bar in the photo is in centimeters, meaning the claw is about 3 inches.
  14. These are all out of the same estate auction as my earlier posts. One of the members, found that much of the collection was posted on this site by the former owner but these weren’t. I sent him a message but doubt I will hear back given the nature of estate auctions. Any help identifying these is as always greatly appreciated.

    Dinosaur tooth?

Hi everyone, maybe a strange ID. Here is the best pictutes i could take of it. Have no idea where it is from, likely somewhere in the USA. Also have no idea what it is.
  16. Home and settled, have 3 more teeth I’d like ID’s on before I do a trip report. 1) Very obviously a herbivore tooth - half of one anyway. 2) Tooth of some kind with enamel with vertical Hunter-Schreger bands 3) Looks like a Dugong tooth fragment kinda, but could also be a rock 1) Herbivore tooth: 2) Enamel banded tooth: Top: Root: View of enamel: 3) Dugong?

Peace River herbivore tooth ID help

So literally just got back out to my spot from yesterday in the hopes of continuing with a good shovel to start off the day. First shovel of the day results in this: Dugong? Tapir? Any help appreciated! @Shellseeker @Harry Pristis
  18. Picked up this tooth today in the Peace River and I'm really not sure what herbivore it's from, I'm thinking possibly camel? Any help would be appreciated! Top: Bottom: Sides:

    Peace River herbivore tooth?

My son found this tooth today. We believe it is a herbivore tooth based on the flat smooth surface. We're uncertain though, and would appreciate any info you may have.

    Herbivore Tooth?

Can anyone help me identify this. It was found in gravel deposits in the River Ribble in Lancashire , UK. I have posted it elsewhere with not much luck getting it ID. Thank you.
  21. I've had this partial ulna in my collection for many year's, found in some Pleistocene river channel mud deposits in the UK. Labelled it up as Bison due to the amount of Bison material in the area. But after showing it to a collector of similar finds we have agreed that it's not Bison but could possibly be from a carnivore. Can anyone else see carnivore as well please. Can supply measurements and different photos if needed.

    Tooth herbivore

Hi I found this in airdire Alberta I don’t know what animal or dinosaur this is from. I’m thinking maybe a cow or bison? In the area that I found it I usually just find Gastropods or fossil shells. Thanks

Found in Cape Fear River, NC

Hi All, About 3", this was found by a friend this weekend by the Cape Fear River. We're guessing a jaw of some herbivore, but no clue beyond that! Anyone know? Thanks!

    Herbivore Tooth

Hi Everyone, I had a great outing at Flag Ponds Park yesterday. The day started with my first intact Meg about 20 minutes into my search. Then later on I found an herbivore tooth. Please help me ID the species. It measures approximately 2.6 cm x 2.7 cm. Thanks for your help.
