Found these two teeth in a creek in north texas. I believe the first may be a partial horse and the second a crocodile? Any help would be appreciated as always.

Found this today on the North Sulfur River. I can’t tell if it’s a vertebra or a cross section of bone or something completely different- I’m not familiar with the concentric circle in it.

Hello! I recently purchased an online lot from an estate sale and got near 100 pieces of collected material. I got some nice pieces, although nothing is in great quality but im hoping I have some rare tooth or something. While I already sorted the hoard, 50% was unidentifiable so I just took the interesting looking ones that I knew nothing about. Any help is appreciated! If anyone would like to know the dimensions, I will be more then happy to do so. Weird piece, the bottom solid bit feels almost like plastic. I also have some peices with some mineral residue on it. I am unsure where this all came from but it seemed like a very interested place to collect. These were labeled as whale inner ear bones, however, they do not look like the stuff I see on google. Some sort of tooth Could be a small horse tooth? This was just labeled porpoise tooth. The first side looks like a belemnite phragmacone but the other side reminds me of a hadrosaur? Super long root with a tooth attached. It is not very good quality, but I can at least make out that it is definitely a separate piece at the tip This was labeled as mastodon cusp A weird button lookin thang. THANKS FOR ANY HELP

Tooth - Real or Fake ?
EthanCook01 posted a topic in Is It Real? How to Recognize Fossil Fabrications
Hi everyone, Today I was in Weymouth (south of England) when I stumbled upon a popular fossil shop. The shop specializes in selling a variety of both fossil replicas and 'fossils'. While I was there I stumbled across a selection of Mosasaur teeth with the root kept inside a locked cabinet. I decided to purchase one of them for £10. So what I was wondering is if the tooth and root are real or not as I am still sceptical. Can anyone give any insight? -
Hey guys, new collector looking for some wisdom. Over the past year, I've collected over 150 Fossil specimens from the Chatham-Kent Area. The Majority of my collection is Middle-Devonian Corals and Brachiopods, but I've also found some Petrified Wood and Fossilized Bone. I'm at the point where I can't keep track of my collection and want to start labeling and identifying my fossils for documentation and display purposes. What resources do you guys use to identify fossils you've collected in the field? How accurate can I realistically date things?

Hi guys! I have something new here and it's very interesting, i think i found a cat claw. You already know that i found in my garden many stuff from Neolithic Vinca culture, such as figurines, pottery, stones tools, microliths and animal bones and teeth as well. So again, i found some cool bones as this claw, but i'm unsure if it belongs to some bigger carnivorous mammal. I compared it with Felis silvestris claw core but it's bigger. I don't know much about carnivorous mammals from Neolithic period but i think that they are the same as today like wolves, bears, lynx, jackals ... If someone would like to help me out identifying this claw it would be much appreciated. Btw, near the claw is i believe some paw bone as well ... Both are quite small and smaller than this battery which i put as a scale . Please help ! Darko

Dino egg-real or fake?
Aaron Livingston posted a topic in Is It Real? How to Recognize Fossil Fabrications
Hello again everyone! i received the egg I purchased. I took pics outside in sunlight so hopefully some of the can “shed light” on whether this is real or faked. Again, I greatly appreciate everyone’s input. Thanks! Aaron -
Hi, I just got back from a family trip to folly Beach and found my first sharks teeth. I looked for hours, finding nothing and then found 6 in 5 minutes, followed by hours of nothing. I am very excited and thankful for the ones I found, but is this common? I also need help with ID from the experts. Thank you so much.

Hi Fossil Friends, I have some big bone chunks that were recovered from the Peace River (Bone Valley Formation, Hawthorn Group, Florida). There a couple of partial bones here that can possibly be ID'ed. There are also 3 "bone balls" - I am guessing these are the broken-off ends of larger bones, but can they be ID'ed? We hung on to these in the hopes they might be something interesting or unusual. But given their condition, it might be difficult or impossible to ID them. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks! Hello all! This is my first post here but surely not my last. I have always been fascinated by fossils, but after accidentally stumbling across some fossils lately (some decorticated rugosa coral) I have taken quite the interest in fossil hunting. I have a recent find that really intrigues me and I'd like to have some expert opinions on it! This was found near some trace fossils and some small (1" or 2.5cm dia.) ammonite fossils. These were in a mountain quarry (approx 950m above sea level) on some nearly vertical shale. Thanks in advance!

Hi guys! Can anyone help me to identify these Ammonites? I am not good at identifying Ammonites so, if someone could help me out, It would be much appreciated! I didn't found them btw, my friend did. They we're found at Stara planina Mountain in Eastern Serbia. The location where they we're found is called Oreovica. I don't know anything about that location. This is all i have from the pictures. Hope someone will help out. Good luck! Darko

I have this coral and I *think* it came from a batch of material from the Bardstown locality in Kentucky. I think it's Ordovician. It is a ball shape and one side shows a lot more detail than the other. Does anyone know what species this is?

I have a fossil found in the Hell Creek Formation in South Dakota. Through studying I have not found a bone that matches mine in any known Hell Creek dinosaur. The bone is 8 1/4 inches tall, 5 inches long, and a width of 1 3/4 inches. The fossil weighs 2 lbs and 14.2 ounces. My belief is that it is from an ornithischian, possibly a ceratopsian or an ornithopod. It has a large hole in it for bone marrow, and at first glance looks like a human hip bone. Please help ID my fossil! Thanks!!!! -Carnoraptor

I have this nautiloid/ammonite that I *think* comes from the "Bear Paw" locality of Montana (Cretaceous) - or at least that is the info I have for it. Can anyone tell me if this is correct, and what species/type of fossil ammonite this is? Thanks!

Dino egg-real or fake?
Aaron Livingston posted a topic in Is It Real? How to Recognize Fossil Fabrications
Hello everyone! I’m Aaron and I’m new here. I just purchased an egg online. I then started reading about how many fakes there are and now I’m very worried. Can anyone give me the skinny on whether it’s real or not? It’s coming from Malaysia and claims to have been part of a private Japanese collection prior to the 80s. I appreciate all your input, thanks!
