My grandad found this in central Montana years ago and never knew what it was. It holds very special value to me and I just want help in identifying what it actually is. Seems to be more than a really cool rock. Please help!

Pulled this from roughly 3-4 feet deep in my backyard on the far west/nw edge of San Antonio. Found a rock bed as I was digging. Odd because until then the soil was actually soil…it was dark and was easy to shovel. I’ve dug holes all around my property and at many other spots around this area and I’ve always hit a very solid layer of limestone before even getting a foot deep. So 3 feet was noteworthy. And that was about 8 months ago. It took me that amount of time to uncover this one. It’s a hair shy of 2lbs4oz/ just over 1kg. Any thoughts on it?

Id help! I’m not sure if this in an animal skull or just a rock
jwestbury posted a topic in Fossil ID
I have this piece from Central Indiana (Generally the Mississippian or Tertiary/Quatemary). What I find fascinating is that it appears to be a nasal cavity. I’m not sure if it’s coincidence or something of actual interest. I took quite a few pictures some with stronger flash so you can see the difference in the different light. -
Good afternoon everyone! This is a tooth that my girlfriend found while sifting in the river and we aren't quite sure what type of tooth it is so any help would be greatly appreciated. I am pretty sure that is it mammal and I want to assume that it is carnivore since it doesn't seem like a grinding surface.

Hi everybody, I'm hoping you can provide help in identifying the following object. I am a complete amateur, but have been wondering about this specific rock for a long time. I tried to make clear pictures, some on centimeter paper. Short story about the object: my mother has lived in South Portugal for a long time, near a river that usually runs dry in the summer. Over the years she and I collected numerous beautifull stones there, usually no fossils. The area knows some places (higher up in the mountains) that are fossil rich, but those do not resemble this specific one. At one time I saw this 'stone' in the collection and asked my mother about it. She could only say "I think I found it in the river a while ago", but she wasn't totally sure. I was - and still am - mesmerized by it, and asked if she would be ok if I kept it at my place. That was ok, as long as I promised never to break it open :-) That was about 10 years ago. I have always been wondering if it could be a dinosaur egg, but every time I started strolling the internet I found information that indicated it probably wasn't. Most indicative (I think) is that the outside doesn't resemble the usual egg shells, and is way too much intact/smooth (apart from the big hole). Also, especially the bottom side of the surface rather appears to have been 'moldable' at some point, rather than a a hard breakable shell. Yet, it is egg shaped and it is pretty clear that it has interesting fossilized structures inside. Every now and then I pick it up to have a look at different angles, and I can't help but wondering what those structures are and what is further inside.. I read somewhere that calculi are sometimes mistaken for dinosaur eggs, but I have no idea if this could be it. So, please have a go at this, ask me for any other pictures or other information if necessary and help me unravel this little mistery (well, for me it is). Thanks in advance!

I know there isn't obvious visual on the specimen but due to the host material being one typical fossils are found in and because of the heavy weight of it and a specific shape, I was hoping I may possibly have a fossil that can still be identified or a place to start as to what is in this rock. Thanks Also the Photos 2,3,4 & 5 are what I consider the top half of the rock and you can clearly see a pointed ridge in the middle indicating that it's possibly a fossil. The first picture is of the opposite side "bottom" which is flat. Except for the right side which shows a ridge through the rock which is possibly more outline of the fossil It appears to contain. It reminds me of a small duck foot as a reference to shape and ridges look to spread out in three ways like webbed foot n bone(shape n ridges discription only not feeling it's a fossilized duck foot)

First off, I'm a complete novice when it comes to fossils so please ignore my ignorance! I recently found my first fossil and I'm still waiting for the bits to arrive so I can have a go at prepping it. On hearing this and my excitement about it my Mother In Law handed me a rock and said I found this about 30 years ago on a trip to Brighton in England I want you to have it. I think it might be an Ammonite (complete guess based on pictures I've seen of Ammonites), also when I first looked at it I thought it was merely the impression left by the fossil, but on looking at it with magnification I'm not so sure anymore. Can someone advise? Thanks, Drew

New to this group so I hope I'm posting within guidelines. Apologies if not. My son found this at Charmouth last winter and it's been stashed in his jar of belemnites. But last night he noticed this one is different, it has ridges on both sides and isn't cone shaped like the others. He's hoping its pterosaur! Can anyone help with ID? Thanks.

Hi I Found this cluster of Crystal in my back yard in middle ga. The crystals easyliy crumble off the cluster but the actual Crystal are pretty hard the can scratch steel. They are clearish white with tiny blackish/blueish metalic like crystals that melt petty quickly and turn into a bubbly like black tar when a flame is put to the Crystal. Steak appears to be white or none. Any help in identifying would be great.
