A long time ago I found this bone: I found it in the quarry Kromer in Holzmaden (Lower Jurassic). The bone is about 6 cm long and very badly preserved. For me it looks like croc but I am not sure ... Can somebody determine this one despite of the damages? Thanks for your help !

An unusually complete specimen although crowns are well known from this location. It has a very short stem consisting of only six or seven columnals, all of which bear cirri. Once thought to be an early comatulid, it is now thought to belong to a separate lineage of nearly stemless pentacrinitids (Hess 2014). References: Simms, M.J. 1989. British Lower Jurassic Crinoids. Because of private reasons i didnt post much lately but now i found some time to post my teeth-finds from last Sunday in Holzmaden. There were lots of good-looking material and the weather was great ! Best circumstances to collect I was about 3 or 4 hours in the quarry Kromer (Lower Jurassic) and found some good stuff. As doushantuo says (here: http://www.thefossilforum.com/index.php?/topic/73430-three-new-teeth-from-holzmaden/ ) the preparation was a serious dental work Firstly this nice Ichthyosaurus tooth: With a length of 1 cm its not the longest tooth but it has a nice strukture ! The next one is my ere biggest tooth ever from Holzmaden! Its a 2.6 cm long Steneosaurus tooth (at least i think that its a croc tooth). The preparation was very hard and took about 6 hours ... Here is the result:

I want to show three teeth from Holzmaden (Lower Jurassic). I prepped them today although the first one is an older find (but also from this year). The first one is a very small tooth (0.8cm) but well preserved. I am not sure with the determination ... maybe Ichthyosaurus ? The second one is bigger with a length of 1.2 cm. Shadefully its not well preserved and a part is missing Its a crocodile tooth (Steneosaurus): And the last one is the most beautifully tooth ! Its large with a length of 2.1 cm but very thin and i think also a crocodile tooth. It was very to prep this one and i think you can see my mistakes In the middle of the tooth i lost some material Otherwise it would be one of the best tooth in my collection ! Hope you enjoyed and thanks for viewing!

Not really a fossil hunting trip (its too cold and too much snow here ... ), but i found three teeth from Holzmaden (lower Jurassic) in material which I picked up last year ! I am very happy with them, although they are very small and a bit damaged. I am not sure if i post the frst one here already ... Its a 0.4 cm long Ichtyosaurus tooth without a tip. I found it on a rock with a belemnite at the front .... The second one was on a very huge stone ! Fortunately i got a stone cutting machine for christmas so this isnt a problem anymore (poor neighbours ) It should be also an Ichthyosaurus tooth with a length of 0.8 cm and an interesting color ! Sry for the bad photo ... And last my favourite "new" tooth. I found it today in a crate with very old material. First I only saw the tip but the preperation wasnt that difficult ... Its a nice 1.1 cm long Steneosaurus tooth ! Please correct me if i mislabeled something or if somebody can id the further ... Thanks for viewing !

I want to show you three "old" finds from the lower Jurassic in Holzmaden/Dormettingen. They are all big ammonites and because of that not that common there ... I used this three ammonites too practice my new stone cutting machine and it works I am very happy with it and its a new chance for me to solve my "space problem" ... Here is it: https://www.amazon.de/Zipper-Fliesenschneider-ZI-FS115/dp/B00BP7OXLO And i dont want to withheld the ammonites ... 1) Harpoceras falcifer with a maximal length of 28 cm: 2) Also Harpoceras (?) with a max. length of 25 cm. This exemplar need more prep ... And the last one a bit smaller with a diameter of 20 cm but well preserved: I am sorry for the bad photos especially the first looks very nice in real and the photo looks bad ... But thanks for viewing !
