6.6 inch Megalodon tooth, a true "Megatooth" (back)
Megatooth Collector posted a gallery image in Member Collections
From the album: Megalodon Collection
This is the biggest tooth in my collection, a true megatooth. It is 6.6 inches along the longest slant, 4.9 inches in width at the root, and is from South Carolina. There are not repairs or restoration on this one. Not the highest quality tooth in my collection, but for this size it it in great shape. The root and blade are completely intact, good enamel, decent serrations and tip. The top layer of bourlette is missing which is probably fortunate or I might not have been able to afford this one! The thought of the shark that once owned this tooth... WOW!© ©

This is one of my favorites! It's a 6.2 inch Chilean meg. No repair or restoration. Great enamel, bourlette, root, and serrations. Small bit of feeding dmage to the tip...probably broke it off while attacking a whale. One of the crown jewels of my collection.© ©

This is my 5.2 inch Aurora/Lee Creek Megalodon tooth. No repair or restoration. I really love the colors on teeth from this region. I rarely handle this tooth, actually keep it in a Riker frame box, mainly because teeth from this location are prone to enamel flaking. You can see this focally where the root and enamel meet.© ©

From the look of its color I am guessing its a South Carolina tooth. Looks to be in pretty good shape, though I notice a little spiky bits coming out from the side of the root: Is this a rare feature in a meg tooth? Thx.
