Real Morocco Mosasaur teeth?

Good evening, I found this at a creek in Austin Texas and doesn't resemble most of my mosasaur vertebrae.

Cool surprise today. Ive found many Mosasaur vertebrae lying in the creeks but never in the bed rock. I’ll have to check back later and see if there’s more. Far North TX Late Cretaceous 85-90 mya

I am looking for a detailed picture of a Mosasaur skeleton. Especially the tail area, I picked up a bunch of vertebrae and I believe they are from a Mosasaur from the Oakley Kansas area and want compare them and assemble them in order.

Well I almost don’t want to post after seeing some of the amazing finds posted from the NSR recently, but had what for me was one of my better trips. I don’t make it out there often but like many was lured by the recent rains and the hope of finding something great. I will say that I am always happy to get out on water and the weather could not be better than it was this week. I hiked a mile or so both ways and funny enough, as usual my best finds were found where everybody enters the river. I don’t know about the rest of you, but I play a game like a scavenger hunt every time I go. This trip I was after a vert, a mosasaur tooth, and an artifact. Nailed it. Funniest part is I was leaving and found the scraper less tha 25 yards from the stairs as I was leaving. I found a killer piece of P wood that has unreal colorations. Thanks for looking.

Hi all, This is supposedly a mosasaur tooth. I dug it out of one of those fossil dig kits you can order online. The product stated that it is a mosasaur tooth but did not specify which species. I know there are several creatures that are classified as a mosasaur, but I'd like to know which one mine is. Because it came from a dig kit that didn't specify time periods, I don't know how old the tooth is. It is slightly over one inch, and two very defined cutting edges. I'm aware that assigning this tooth to a specific mosasaur is likely very difficult if not impossible, but I'd appreciate any input. If it's deemed unidentifiable, I'll gladly toss it in a shelf labled "Mosasaur." Just thought it might be cool to know which one I've got. Thanks!

I had a good hunt at the North Sulphur River Texas. I found a nice variety and possibly the first Pterosaur limb bone ever found at NSR.

Hi y’all, I’ve been hurting for some good fossil hunting since moving to Memphis and as luck would have it a job put me within 3 hours of NSR. Not to mention the water level reports from last week that I’ve been salivating over. So I hopped in the car and managed to get out and hunt last Friday, Saturday with 2 friends, and Monday.(Sunday I went to Post Oak due to weather lol). Water is still pretty high in most areas and some serious water hiking had to be done to get to the bars. I went in twice and my buddy went all the way in. Most areas where I hunted were undisturbed and fresh for the picking.

Hello, I saw this jaw on the Internet and I was wondering if it was real (because it is being sold for very cheap) To me the jaw looks ok compared to other fake jaws, but the teeth look a bit weird... These are the only two pictures I have. What do you think? Regards

I wasn't sure where to post this thread, but I have a few fossils that I'd like to either buy or build stands for. I have seen lots of display stands (looks like a wire frame and a metal base) for carch teeth, and mosasaur teeth- that's what I'm looking for but I cant seem to find any for sale on the internet! Not interested in the little plastic megalodon stands, I'm looking specifically for a small wire frame stand where the tooth is held in place by its natural taper. Looking specifically for spinosaurus, carch, and mosasaur tooth stands. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you! N

I picked up this tooth a few days. It was in a bin with plesiosaur teeth. But this one was much different. It's 2" long. One carinae, that is not serrated, likely on the mesial side. The other side is rounded. Faint striations that run up the tooth from the base, but slowly fade away towards the crown. I'm not an expert on mosasaurs, looking for help on ID.

Another Fake Jaw from Morocco

So this jaw is being sold as a rare museum quality Hadrosaur jaw. As many of you probably already know, this is a typical fake Mosasaur jaw from Morocco. So it really has nothing to do with any Hadrosaurs. But I think it still deserves to be said that no one should buy these types of fakes jaws thinking they are real. Always be careful when buying any type of fossil, especially fossils from Morocco and China, as those are very often faked. -
I'm considering purchasing this platecarpus jaw. The only thing is......I'm not sure its platecarpus at all. It certainly looks mosasaur to me, but something about the spacing between the teeth seems off.....maybe halisaurus? The jaw is 8.66 inches long, it's from morocco (ouled abdoun basin), and it's currently labeled as platecarpus ptychodon. any help would be greatly appreciated!

So I have not posted in quite some time as I mostly do the Facebook updates because it is so easy to deal with the photos, but I thought I should get this one in now that I think it is over. I went on a hunt around the middle of January that turned out pretty well. I had walked a good ways and had found nothing which can quickly put me in a bad funk, but I finally came across a mosasaur vert encrusted in matrix, so my disposition changed a little. Always nice to find something to get rid of the skunk (sorry, fishing term). Not too far from the exit point, I just happened to glance across and my eye settled directly on a mosasaur tooth socket. I knew exactly what it was when I spotted it from over 15 feet away. I went straight away to collect what was a small section of jaw with a couple of broken off teeth (pretty typical of the NSR). When I reached down to pick it up, I realized that there was another piece of the jaw and that it would connect with the piece I was retrieving. Score! Now a nice 6 or 8 inches of jaw would look better all glued up, but then I gained a little more focus and realized that what I thought were rocks, were the edges of more bones, and more important was that the fact that the other bones were in the shale and not sitting on top! I gathered myself and beat away the excitement as I knew that I had just found the resting place of a mosasaur. It was getting dark and there was rain in the forecast, so I figured that I would pull out the few pieces that would get washed away. When I went for the first vert, I had totally missed that there was a visible tooth half way in the matrix. I scratched a couple of times near there and that is when it hit me! That jaw bone was going into the ground and there should be more of it! I have a long story about a hike out as I was not prepared for such that I will spare you from, but I had finally found some jaws with teeth whether I would destroy them getting out of there or not. There is more to this story, but I wanted to at least share what got me so excited and the reason I spend hours wandering around in the middle of nowhere.

I found this mosasaur paddle bone on the auction site. Thought it might be a cool piece. But it is from morocco, and I've heard about the huge amount of mosasaur fakes from there. So is this real???

So I found this skull and I'd love to maybe get something like this in the future, I could possibly do prep work to make it look better. But is it real? I can't tell. All I know about it is it's from morocco.
