Hey all. On my trip to Lewes, DE for my last breath of summer, I couldn't resist the pull of fossils and searched around in a sand and stone store. The seller had some nice shark teeth, arrowheads, and ammonites. We chatted about fossils for a while and then she asked me if I had any idea what this is. She said she found it on a beach near Lewes. Unfortunately she was unable to provide information on what formation it was found in. It may not even be a fossil at all. But it piqued my curiosity and I thought it would be cool to at least post it and see if it was anything. Maybe you native Delawarians could tell me a thing or two. The fossil was quite light, lighter than an arrowhead for sure, but without the consistency of wood, and has small little circles at the bottom. That may just be an anomaly in the rock, but I thought every little detail would matter in this case. Thanks folks,

Large Interesting Bone New Jersey Cretaceous? Scute? Dinosaur? Turtle?

Hello everyone, had a super quick trip to the cretaceous creeks of new jersey and found this particularly interesting large bone fragment, likely it is a chunk of miscellaneous bone material but it reminds me alot of a scute like ankylosaurus or some sort of other bone scute especially the edge, or from maybe something like a large turtle but I am entirely not sure if it's dinosaur, marine reptile, etc or if there is anyway to tell, looks super suspicious to me anyways so if anyone has any ideas I'd definitely love to hear them. (If more pictures are needed I will definitely be able to get some more angles if necessary)

Hi all! Dug around whiskey bridge yesterday and found what resembled a geode. The top part came off so I dug the rest out, any ideas?

I found this partially submerged in the dirt right next to a giant Redwood tree in the Redwood Forest in Northern California. The quarts was sticking out of the top of the ground, so I picked it up and instantly noticed something foreign inside. It is surrounded by quarts and rock but I could see the lines in it going the same direction.

It's been a few weeks since we returned from the road cut along Old Indiana 1 in St. Leon. I've attached photos of my finds. Many I've identified, but some are mysteries, and I'm hoping my friends here can help me out. Finally, I found lots of Rafinesquina, but I'll save those for another time. Also, because of size restrictions, I need to send these in batches. Don't know what this is. It's 1 mm in length. Sorry, I forgot to add something for scale. They're pentagonal in shape, so I think they're Xenocrinus baeri. Sorry about the resolution. This looks like a well-worn horn coral. What was unusual were the worm-like shapes on all sides. Are these Chondrite specimens?

Leptaema on the right. What's on the left? Don't know what this is, but they look almost like crinoid stems. Some of the Strophomena I picked up.

I scored this nice vertebra from the discard pile outside the geology building at a local University. Absolutely no context. I suspect it will not be possible to I D but it's worth a try.

Okay folks. This one, I have no clue. The information that was given to me was nominal. That being Western United States, purchased at an Estates sale. I, by all means, am not looking for an exact identification. I'm trying to figure out 1)why is it so dark?/ 2)Dino. versus post dino. mammal? 3)What part of the creature? I'm guessing distal extremity. Thanks!

I found this in the mid-2000's but never really had it checked out, I'm having a paleontologist look at it soon, but I wanted to get your guys opinions. I can only post 1 photo because there is a size limit.

This mystery tooth was in a box of fossils that I bought. I have no location or any other information on the tooth and I have no idea what it is. It appears to be some sort of canine tooth to me. Is very similar in color to teeth that I have from Cave Bears from Romania. Looks too small to be your bear tooth to me. Any ideas?

I have found a straight shelled Cephalopod in the ordovician of Russia. Middle ordovician asery level of the Leningrad area. Its different from the usual cephalopods found there. The septa are closely spaced and the siphuncle is small and close to one side of the couch. (Not the centre) From what I can tell it's neither orthoceras nor endoceras. The shell has ribbing on the bodychamber it which is also atypical. I would really appreciate any further insight!!

I found this yesterday, November 26, down at Venice Beach, FL near the fishing Pier, along with an assortment of shark's teeth, coral and other interesting things. It looks like a tooth to me but I didn't think it was a shark tooth. Does anyone know what it is from? Thanks in advance! I'll have to post separate posts for different angles; I guess my files are large.

Hey everyone! During my trip to Wren's Nest, Dudley, UK with @JohnBrewer and @Barerootbonsai I stumbled across a hash plate with a peculiar specimen. John suggested that it might be a trilobite, but I should post it here. Does anyone else have an idea of what this might be?

Hello everyone, I was patrolling my odd Devonian location that has rocks I'm guessing from Upstate New York that are littered with Devonian fossils and came across this on one of the large rocks (unfortunately I can't extract). I'm unsure if its maybe a seas scorpion, trilobite, or something else. My guess leaning towards sea scorpion of sorts but I'd like to hear what you guys think, its the only of it I've seen in the area wish there was more or the rock it was on wasn't a unliftable boulder haha.

Hello fossil wizards, please help. I found this washed up on Myrtle Beach when I was a kid. I think it looks like a tooth? I've always wondered what it is or what it belonged to. It keeps me up at night, haunting me, floating in my mind's eye mouth, 20 years of unidentified oversized toothy torture. Anyway, I would love to finally find out the tooth to this mysterious mystery of the perhaps dental variety & put this & myself to bed.

I found this cool rock in part of a landscape rock bed. Honestly I know very little about fossils and was hoping someone could help me finding out what kind of fossil this is. Since I found it in a man-made rock bed it may be from a different location which is why I've had trouble finding information. The specimen does have crystalline on the inside which I've heard happens sometimes. Please share if you might know what this is!

Finally getting around to posting a pic of a piece I found at last weekends "Dig with the Experts" (I was there Saturday wearing my FF shirt). Along with several enrolled Eldredgeops, a nice prone one, a few brachs and snails, I brought this piece home as well. It isn't the easiest to get a good pic of, but I showed it to several people there including other FF members and the PD staff and nobody had seen anything quite like it. The consensus is that it's a trace but the ridge running along the middle is what's causing people to scratch their heads. Has anyone ever seen a similar example? Thanks in advance

Ive only got an hour or two to play on the FF. Im leaving on a fossil hunting trip tomorrow morning at about 4 am. If I can find what im after, it will be a rare fossil. Just hoping I can get a really good one. Been looking for one of these for years!!! Dont meant to be so mysterious, but im not sure if i will get any? My question is for @Fossildude19. if I find some of these concretions, it will be found this month and close to the end of the month. i wont be able to prep any till next month. My question is: Will I still be able to post it in the 'Fossil of the Month'? I dont think Ive ever posted in Fossil of the Month, but would like to with one of these? RB

I'm an amateur collector from the east of England and for about 2 years I've been finding Neolithic flints and pottery, horse and cow teeth etc in a small area of woodland that was formerly a river bank near where I live. It's probably not that exciting to you guys as the local archaeology department dated the finds to between 4 and 10 thousand years ago and then lost interest, apparently Neolithic in my area is just too common. But it's still exciting to me and in amongst my finds I have 2 things that I would really like to identify and understand better so I am hoping you experts will be able to help. The first is a tooth - when the archaeology people first saw it they immediately said it was human but it is not a molar and has 2 roots. I'm thinking pig maybe...??? The second find came later, a small bone: is it human toe or finger bone? It is not quite fossilised and was preserved in clay - if it IS human, would it fit in with the same people whose pottery and flint tools I keep finding or would it be more recent?
