Hello! Long time reader, now nervously posting for the first time. I'm Ida, originally from Finland, now living in the US. I'm an artist and quite a big chunk of my work nowadays consists of paleoart. (https://www.idakalsta.com/paleoart, for the curious) I've always loved prehistoric animals and dreamed of seeing real fossils as a kid, and after my move to the US I've started to make that a reality. Feels good to get some tactile contact to the things I paint all the time! I've already done it for a couple years and have found some pretty neat stuff from Florida, Alabama and Mississippi. Mammal and plant fossils are definitely my favourites to find. Glad to finally join the forum, you folk seem great! I'm always impressed by the amount of knowledge and the willingness to share it on the forum.

Hey everyone! Here's my latest piece of paleoart, T-rex! I used ink and watercolors. I didn't want to color it the traditional green or brown so I looked at vultures for reference. I find it difficult to believe the theory that T-rex was exclusively a scavenger but I thought the vulture colors would make it look nasty. Hope you like it and I'd love to know what you all think! -Mike
