Hi all
I finally managed to acquire a copy of Robert Plots, Natural History of Oxfordshire, written in 1677.
Robert Plot was the first keeper of the Ashmolean Museum at Oxford University. I’ve included a link as it’s well worth a visit.

This is a large “portfolio” book and includes the first known picture of a dinosaur bone. It was misidentified (quite an interesting misidentification - look it up) but it is probably the broken end of a megalosaurus femur.
There were only 750 copies of the first edition of this book published and it makes for a interesting read. This is a second edition from 1705, which has been very difficult to get a decent well priced copy.
