Post Oak Creek (Picture from Google) Awesome, so after weeks of darn rain forcing me to cancel my trip, we finally made it out to Post Oak Creek this morning @ 9:52am, left about 11am only because of other plans for today. Its sooo nice to enjoy nature again! =P After two years of missing out on adventures, its nice to finally be outside! Fair warning, I am rusty and kinda off my game a little. If im wrong about classifying something here, sorry in advance! Anyways, omg such a niiiice day out! Not too bright, not too cloudy, no sign or rain! We just had a bit of rain the past few week, I worried the creek was too filled to really do anything there. Luckily, there was just a cold front and no rain so I wanted to take that opportunity to go to my favorite creek to look for my favorite shark teeth in the world. I always ask the family in charge of the body shop near the site if we can park in his property for the creek, he was thrilled I asked permission-he said most people do not! =O Shame on some of you! x'P It was kinda chilly this morning, the water was low, lots of gravel mounds exposed, however unfortunately it looks like someone got ahold of my magical spot! T-T I tried there for about 30 mins, errr nothing.... so I tried further west and picked through some gravel mounds. For fun, I enjoy looking through other peoples leftovers, thats where I actually find my best teeth! My husband came with, but he doesnt like to hunt for fossils so he just threw rocks in the water, chased some minnows with a long stick, and made some friends with the natives there! (frogs LOL) We both had fun doing our own thing there. It was nice to get the heck out of the city and enjoy listening to cardinals and slow running water for a change! We found a lots of glass, ummm a bone.... LOL and of course, fossils =) I got around my usual haul, but sadly I got a few heart breakers this time! T-T Nature is such a teaser, but thats the punishment I get for collecting my little ponies and not going fossil hunting for two years! x'D I hunt for Ptychodus teeth-my favorite shark from my favorite time in geological history. I had little luck, but regardless if I found anything or not, such a nice day. Better than work any time! I am not a heavy fossil collector, and took only a small percent of what the creek was willing to give up to me. I have lots of pictures below! Enjoy these pictures =) My husband's new friend What I took home Total Post Oak Creek collection as of 3/28/13 ~Thank you for viewing!!!
