Hello to all. This is my collection of flora from the Carboniferous period. This topic will be filled gradually - there is a lot of material. All material originates from the Araukarite Formation of the Gzhel Stage of the Upper Pennsylvania Carboniferous period (303.4 Ma). Unless otherwise specified, it means that the default sample is from this formation. The type of substitution is silicification (sometimes with ferruginization), sometimes with quartz crystals on the surface of the samples. Enjoy watching Part 1. Sample 1. Part of a branch of small diameter with a whorled arrangement of knots. VID_20211212_143605.mp4

Hey everyone! I have a quick question on baby tyrannosaur teeth and their rarity compared to adult or subadult tyrannosaur teeth. Which is rarer to find? I would assume baby tyrannosaur teeth would be rarer, but at the same time, most tyrannosaurs didn’t even make it to adulthood. So which would you say? Are baby tyrannosaur teeth or adult tyrannosaur teeth rarer? Any answer is appreciated! Thanks everyone!

Rarity of this afrovenator tooth?
Pterygotus posted a topic in Is It Real? How to Recognize Fossil Fabrications
I saw this afrovenator atakensis tooth from the tiouraren formation, niger with no repair or restoration. What is the rarity of it and quality?( common, uncommon, rare, fairly rare, ultra rare or almost never seen) does the broken tip affect this? Thank you. It is described as unbroken and incredibly rare.- 23 replies

Over the course of this year learning about the Tivola Limestone, the more I've inexplicably wanted an in-situ Eocene scallop. I've seen before that scallops with both valves attached at the hinge have been found, but how rare is such a phenomenon? Something like this:

Complete fossil Shark Skeletons: are there any?
MeargleSchmeargl posted a topic in General Fossil Discussion
I recently found this image with a shark's jaws preserved. Makes me wonder if a shark's full cartilaginous skeleton has ever been found preserved, knowing that it is rare for cartilage to preserve at all. Has a full shark skeleton ever been found?- 15 replies

Hi my son was given a large vertabrae it was living life as a flower bed border when we found it. The older couple that had it are really good friends of mine and the question I have is what would be a fair price to offer for the remaining five or six pieces they have in the flower bed. It seems that these are starting to deteriate and need to be preserved. Any suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks

These are my fossils from Gotland (southern Sweden) and they are all from silurian age. I have only photographed the most interesting specimens specifically, as i have far too many specimens to fotograph. Also, most are unidentified as i do not have much knowledge of fossil corals (which i have a lot of), or clams / sea urchins, but anyways, here it is: Corals These corals are of various different species, my most common type being Catenipora. Sea Urchins Sea Urchins like these are also quite common on Gotland Other Specimens These two fossils are by far the best ones i have from my Gotland "Expedition", first off, a nearly perfect silurian clam with no restoration or repair (however quite some prepping): And one of my two larger self-collected orthocnes: Dawsonoceras. it was a orthocone, with an unknown size, as no complete specimen has never been found: Here is the "Gotland box" where i store my fossils from Gotland, and i have as i said way too many to photograph:
