Hello all! I found this during my last trip to the North Sulphur River. I’m thinking it’s a piece of a Cretaceous turtle shell. I’m not sure and I don’t like to assume anything. Any guesses? Also, are those marks from animals feeding on it?

any thoughts on this would be appreciated. It is hard to capture with photos, but this fossil has a distinct transition around the circumference where it changes texture and shape. Kind of like you would see on the transition at the base of an antler. Thanks! Found: In a river in North Florida. Pleistocene.

I found this sticking out of a sand bar while walking the North Sulphur River this past weekend. I literally have zero ideas about what it could be. Any ideas?

My husband and I found some really great fossils in Onion Creek just east of Austin, TX today. Many of the usual gastropods but also some mammalian bones including this bone. The top of it looks like it's a molar, but the rest of the bone suggests that maybe it isn't? I'm at a loss on this one. Welcoming any help with IDs here. Let me know what angle or side would be helpful if I failed to get the shots necessary to narrow it down. Many thanks!

Hi! Its been awhile since I posted. I found this vertebra near Tybee Island in the Savannah River. Its about 6 inches long and 3 inches thick. Anyone has any idea what it might have belonged to? Thanks !

I found this in the NSR yesterday, and it is very similar to a Tabulate coral I found in the NSR a while back. Here’s the discussion on the forum about that specimen: http://www.thefossilforum.com/index.php?/topic/78070-mosaic-of-crystal-north-sulphur-river/ This one is worn a bit more, so I’m confused as to whether it is also a Tabulate coral or Rudist, but they have very similar characteristics. The sections don’t seem to be as square as Rudist. Any help is appreciated!

I am hoping someone can ID what I found while taking a brief visit to the NSR when I was working in the area. I am a fluvial geomorphologist and only knew about the fossils in the river due to reading about the river. I thought it was pretty cool that I found this in just a few minutes search but I had to hit the road and get back to work. This peaked my interest in learning more and I would like to know what this is... Thanks for your help, Dead River

I found this while going through part of a dry river bed. It’s near Colorado Springs, CO. It’s a little smaller than a dime. Could it be a crinoid AKA Indian Bead? That’s the closest looking thing I’ve found thus far.

This was found in a gravel bar on the North Sulphur River in Ladonia, Texas. (Late Cretaceous) I’m curious if it’s the paddle portion of a Plesiosaur? Very smooth bone that tapers down and becomes thicker on one side. Nearly 4 inches long. Any help is appreciated.

I carefully dug this very small tooth from the wall of the North Sulphur River in Ladonia, Texas. A few people have determined that it is not a mosasaur tooth. It has a straight root and the tooth is rounded and not flattened like a typical shark tooth. Any help on this little guy would be appreciated!

Before I toss this into the deep, dark box of unknown rocks...I’m wondering what kind of tooth (?) this might be? It’s from the North Sulphur River in Ladonia, Texas. Help? Thanks!!!

Good time at the North Sulphur River in Ladonia, Texas this weekend. Here are some of the things we found! I’m curious about the gray ammonite (bottom right). I’ve attached a few photos at the end (first two photos) to see if any of you know what the black line is running through it at the bottom. It reminds me of the vein in a shrimp!
