These were found about 10 - 15 ft. below the surface in red dirt layer of a hill with elevation about 100 ft. above sea level. (one of the highest points in our parish) along with lots of other similar pieces that look like Osteoderms or scouts. They are not located at a known fossil formation but in a current dirt/rock pit. We have found many native American tools and arrow heads on this hill in central Louisiana and while my husband was digging with an excavator we started noticing random bright objects in the otherwise solid red dirt layer and some of their photos are attached. Scout trip to North Sulphur River and Drone Footage

I'm a cubmaster for Cub Scouts and a couple of weeks ago, I took my scouts to the North Sulphur River for a fossil experience. We got there and I pulled out some examples of what they could expect to find. Just in case, I gave each scout a bag with a couple of shark teeth, a Baculite, a couple of Annelid Worms, and some Exogyra fragments. That way, just in case they didn't do as well, they could at least go away with something. Had a ball and they all sent pics of some of their finds. I'll add more as they come in (and I'll get around to photographing mine). All in all, though, we found- 11 replies
