I've been trying to figure out what shark this tooth is from. It was found in the Potomac River near Colonial Beach, VA and is about 1/2 of an inch in length.

Found a new spot (new to me, but I'm sure many others know about it) Saturday where I found quite a few hemis, including my largest one to date, and one with very interesting colors. I also found the attached tooth, which I'm guessing is a symphyseal tooth (pathological maybe), but I don't have anything else like it. Is that indeed what it is and, if so, is it possible to tell what type of shark it is (genus)? Found near the Summerville/Goose Creek area. Thank you for the help!

Before buying, I want to know what I'm getting. It is an Indonesian tooth with the root. I'm wondering if it has been repaired or restored. What do you think?

I made a trip to a different spot on the North Sulfur River this morning. I had been to this spot one time last year, but an unforecast rain shower showed up and turned the river into such a muddy mess that I turned around and left without finding anything. With a 100 degree high forecast for today, I didn't figure rain would be a problem. I found some of the usual things you expect to find at NSR, Hamulus worm tubes, a gastropod, a perfectly preserved complete bivalve, some interesting bones, and lots of bacculites. The only bacculite I brought home was the one in this photo, with the great suture lines.
