    Spinosaurus Hand Bone

Seller has this listed as a Spinosaurus hand bone with some repairs, no resto.... just wanted to get some of your guys opinions on it. Do you think it's real? Does it look like there's any restoration?

    Sigil, the Spinosaur tooth

From the album: Dard’s fossil purchases

Rooted Spinosaur(us) tooth from Kem Kem Beds. Measures 5.55in in length
  3. Hi everyone. I am new to this forum and recently acquired what I think is my first dinosaur tooth. I am pretty excited and surprised that Spinosaurus teeth are so common and pretty affordable. What do you think of this tooth? Did it belong to a Spinosaurus? I bought this specimen because of the well preserved enamel and the nice colour. It was glued together after excavation, but that is okay by me. I believe i can discern some vestigial serration. Thanks for your insights!
  4. Hi, I received this massive Spinosaurus tooth from USA. (I live in Thailand) As I can see from my eyes, I'm not sure which part was repaired (or faked). Seller told it only has been repaired near the crown. Any thought? Thanks a millions!!!
  5. Hi all, First time fossil buyer. Purchased what appears to be a Spinosaurus tooth. This is a birthday present for my little boy who’s dinosaur mad. Wondered if anybody could shed some light on if they think this is real or not. The website notes it’s from Morocco and advised proof of authenticity will accompany the tooth.

    Spino caudal vertebra?

Hi guys! I found this vertebra on sale, probably caudal, can be spino? There are only these pictures… Thanks!
  7. I've recently purchased a Spinosaurus tooth, but I have some concerns about it being heavily restored. It doesn't seem fake to my non-expert eyes, but it also looks a little "too perfect" to be completely genuine. I'm strongly concerned about the color and some kind of coating or paint that seems to have been put on the whole surface. I'd be happy to have a more expert opinion from you guys!!

Is this a genuine spinosaurus tooth?

I bought this tooth last year from a trusted local fossil shop, it was sold to me as an authentic spinosaurus tooth. Is this truly a spinosaurus tooth or is it from a croc (or something else)? Hoping I didnt get scammed.. Also, for future reference, how would I tell the difference between a spino tooth and a croc tooth?
  9. Hi, I'm looking for a nice example of a Spinosaurus tooth for a gift to a Spinosaurus lover. I'm not quite sure the best place to look, but I did find this one coming up in an auction. I wondered if anyone would be willing to offer an opinion on this one? Thank you!
  10. Hello everybody, I'm sorry for making thread about ID mixed fossil types, but I didn't want to open multiple threads for such a small specimens as they aren't something ''special'',but small specimens that I would like to properly ID. They were bought from one small fossil shop that sells fossils, meteorites, amber, dinosaur teeth and those kind of things. They are fairly small shop, but they have nice collection of small affordable fossils for sale. I bought them years ago and I always wanted to get proper ID of them, but my camera wasn't good at the time and I always had more ''important'' things to do. Today I finally got time and I took photos, but unfortunately I forgot where did some of those fossils came from as too much time has passed. I remember some of them, but not all. All of those fossils were cheap. Fossils are placed near metric ruler for size reference and are measured in centimeters. First fossil is Spinosaurus Aegypticus (Cretaceous Period 90 MYO) found in Kem-Kem basin Taouz Morocco It is 4cm long. I would like to know is it possible that tooth from Spinosaurus is sold that cheap and is authentic as well since it's rare animal? I know they had lot of teeth during their life that were constantly replaced by new ones as the animal ate/broke them, but I still having hard time to believe that authentic dinosaur tooth is sold for so little. Second fossil is trilobite that is from Cambrian period if I remember correctly.I forgot location where it came from unfortunately. It's only one centimeter long and I'm not sure if it's authentic or not because bottom of it look somewhat weird (at least to me). I uploaded 3 pictures of it. Third fossil is Neuropteris seed fern Carboniferous period (320 MYO) from Crock Hey pit-Wigan Lancashire UK I uploaded 3 pictures of it and I would like to know do you think it's genuine? Next two fossils are supposed to belong to Tyrannosaurus Rex,but they are so small it's impossible to tell from what dinosaur they came from,if they even belonged to a dinosaur. It's stated that they are from Tyrannosaurus Rex Cretaceous period (65 MYO) Hell Creek formation Northwest South Dakota-USA As far as I can tell (and I don't even belong to newbie amateur class) they seems to have honeycomb like structure that could be where the blood vessels were once the animal was alive. If it's a dinosaur I presume it would belong to some Theropod because of that honeycomb like structure, but that just my humble inexperienced opinion. I uploaded 5 pictures of those two fragments and I would very much like to know did it belong to some Theropod or at least a dinosaur and do they look like they really came from Hell Creek formation judging by color and things like that? Note: 4th T-Rex fragment picture have one side completely yellow that is totally different from rest of the specimen.Do you perhaps know what that is? And lastly, last two bone fragments are stated as ''Triceratops'' bone fragments, but I'm aware that's impossible to tell just like ''T-Rex'' fragment from above because they are simply too small. However,I would like your opinion about them as well. Do they look like fragments that belonged to dinosaur at least? They came from either Montana or North Dakota and I think they are too from Hell Creek formation like ''T-Rex'' fragments, but I'm not 100% sure, more like 90%. They are of course 65 MYO,at least that's what seller stated. I uploaded 7 pictures of those 2 fragments. Once again,I want to apologize for multiple different specimens in one thread, but I think you'll agree that this is better than opening 5-6 threads for such a small specimens. Lastly,I want to thank you for taking time to read this and I hope you can tell me are all those fossils genuine and if those 4 fragments came from some dinosaur if you can get any info from small fragments like those of course. If you have any questions that could help you get better ID,feel free to ask them. Thanks!

    Spinosaurus aegyptiacus tooth

From the album: Robs Fossil Collection

Spinosaurus aegyptiacus tooth Kem Kem Basin, Province of Ksar es Souk, Moroccan Sahara. Size: 7.0cm long
  12. Is this Spinosaurus tooth real? I am slightly suspicious of it, but am not experienced enough to tell
  13. Hi, My name is Satoshi. I want to study Spinosaurus fossils. I think this fossil is not fake and high quality. But,very little. What do you think, guys? Please help. Thank you very much.

  16. Hey everyone, New to collecting and so far I have these two Spinosaurus teeth (I hope). Would be great to hear what you guys think! Are they genuine? Please let me know if you require any further details. The smaller tooth is 3.7 cm The larger tooth is 4.8 cm
  17. I think this is S. aegyptiacus's tooth. What do you think, guys?
  18. Hello! I'm a new member and I was hoping I could get some second opinions on some Kem Kem fossils I'm thinking about purchasing. I've only collected American species, and have been recently interested in bones out of the Kem Kem beds. I've stayed away thus far because of the stories of composite fossils and Frankenstein pieces, but I've come across a couple that I thought were interesting and fairly priced. Was hoping I could get some other thoughts before moving on any of them (wanna make sure they aren't composites or areas of fill look weird). I've attached pictures of three specimens I'm looking at. Any help would be greatly appreciated! 1) Spinosaurus Vertebra 2) Spinosaurus Rib I think this one is what it is, prep work doesn't look the best, but just wanted confirmation I guess. 3) Carcharadontosaurus vertebra (transverse processes) I was wondering if I could get help on confirming the id on this one, not really sure what carcharadontosaur vertebrae are supposed to be like. Centrum is missing, not sure if that's important for the id.
  19. Hi, I'm new here. My name is Satoshi. I'm afraid this fossil is not genuine. Please help. Thank you very much.
  20. Hello Fossil Forum Family! The specimen is too partial and small for me to have any confidence in the ID: could it actually be a spino seed tooth and jaw fragment, or is it one of the dozens of crocodile specs in the area (Cretaceous, Moroccan)? Any insight would be much appreciated. Thanks! - Ryan

    Giant Kem Kem vertebrae

Hello. I was wondering if someone could identify this vertebrae. It originates from the Kem Kem Basin of Morocco. I don't have much else information on it. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
  22. Really beefed up my collection this year: Amber: Spent a while with my trusty loupe combing through Chiapas amber sold by the gram and found a very uncommon flower petal. The seller took a moment to offer up a page on his phone about the healing properties of amber, and he gave me a polite nod and laugh when I said I'm more interested in the scientific properties. I like dead stuff. Big Claw: Always wanted a thick beefy claw! Labeled as a Carch claw from Kem Kem but after reading some of @Troodon's posts it could be a Spino or generic theropod. Really love the shape of this thing. Crab: Unfortunately about 20% of the crab's lil' butt was crushed sometime between purchasing and driving home. He's so delicate. There's a nice interior view of the underside of the carapace now, though. Any info about this guy would be appreciated! Skinny Theropod Claw: A little rough around the edges but I was really drawn to the curvature and sharpness of this one. Labeled as just "theropod" so I'm not sure if it's possible to tell what it's from. I can post more photos for identification.

    Spinosaurus caudal bone?

I have this bone from long time ago. As seller label it as Spinosaurus caudal vertebrae bone from Kem Kem bed, Morocco. But I’m not sure about this label about Spinosaurus or other species, can you guys help me to have a look? Thank you!
  24. Hello, I made a short adrenaline-style Spinosaurus tribute video that I thought some folks here might get a kick out of. Warning: violence and hard music.
  25. Hello everyone, as im following up on my previous post while im on vacation someone tipped me to visit a local Fossil shop in a small town. So they have a massive Spinosaur Skull displayed and what interests me the most a huge claw with bone. sadly i had a language barrier and someone from my friends translated a bit for me. The shop owner was not very friendly and seemed a little suspicious with my questions ‘are they authentic’ and ‘where lies there origin’. He then told me they are purely authentic and that he was doing this for 35 years. He took it personal that I asked him this. Once I revealed my collection he was like oh this guy knows a bit about Fossils. What fascinated me the most about this story is the fact that he then told me these were found locally in a place in France named Pourrieres. A hidden private property place were only 3 people know about. I was like what ? I thought they only lived in Egypt / Marokko etc. Very interesting. Does anyone know about this? anyway the claw is calling my name , it wants me to take it home lol. But it does not come for free, quite te opposite. So it would be very apreciate if you guys could let me in on your opinion about authenticity / quality. As im still a new collector that just started this amazing hobby. Curious to your thoughts! thanks best regards, Phos_
