Hi all, I was looking over some finds from Sunset Beach when I reexamined this and thought it looked organic. Sticks to my tongue, feels relatively heavy. Is this a fossil bone? Sunset Beach is awesome and I definitely recommend the visit, especially before the shipwreck is fully lost to the sea. Fossils seem really rare there, but the colorful quartz and minerals polished by waves make up for it.

I am going to Sunset Beach, NC (just north of Myrtle Beach) this weekend with my GF, I know I am going to walk the beach as usual but was thinking about looking into some other places around the area, maybe trying to get permission to go into Castle Hayne quarry on Saturday if possible, which would be about the furthest I'd want to drive. She visits with her parents, sitting long hours indoors/driving around and I am more of an outdoors man looking for some adventure and fossils!
