I found this in January on the Llano riverbed in Central Texas. I was just looking at rocks and liked the coloring. It was getting dark and their was a few similarly colored pieces somewhat near each other so I tossed it in my bag and didn't look too close. I didn't think much of it until I got home. I know practically nothing so please be patient with me. I know rocks often look like other things, but this seems to have shell on both sides and "meat" in the middle. The bumps and texture seem to match crabs. However, I understand tissue is rare so this seems unlikely to me. I would really appreciate constructive feedback. Thank you all.

Hello, Thoughts on this? Half an inch long, sold as a Pliosaur tooth from Texas. Seller thinks Eagle Ford, but isn't 100%. I like the look of it, but wanna rule out croc or ichthyosaur. cheers

EDIT: Likely just a weird concretion or weathered chunk of rock. 😬Thanks all for the clarification. Hi all - while looking for Cretaceous fossils, I found some interesting chunks of what I thought might be bone of some kind amongst the piles of white limestone. When I cleaned them up at home, they started to look more and more like a very worn mammoth molar and some other fragments. Can anyone confirm the ID or offer any other info/ideas? Thanks! I found this huge and VERY heavy bone today on a river gravel bar here in SE Texas. I think it is a mammoth unciform but wanted to confirm. It's a first find for me. It's huge! And I can't believe how perfect it is... hardly any wear and tear considering it's age and how most other river finds are beat up pretty bad and eroded. This is a nice piece whatever it is. Any help appreciated. Size is 6x5x5 inches Sorry so many pics wanted all views possible.

Hi everyone! A buddy of mine recently bought this as an "unknown fossil" and sent me some pics to see if I could ID it. My ID is that it's a rock and not a fossil but I figured I'd post it here on his behalf in the desperate hope I'm wrong. Apparently it was found somewhere in East Texas.
