Wondering if this is a cow, bison, or horse tooth. Was found on the platte river in central Nebraska. It does appear to be fossilized so I’m not sure how old that makes it. Originally thought cow but since it does seem to be fossilized I’m not sure there were cows in Nebraska that long ago. Any help is appreciated

This was acquired at a swap meet on California central coast. I'm an avid rock hound, it came with a small collection of sagenite purchased 20 plus years ago. I would really appreciate anyone taking time to give an opinion, guess, thought on its identity.

Help to ID what appears to be a tooth root segment from GMR NC
AshHendrick posted a topic in Fossil ID
Found this digging in greens mill run NC the other day - was in stuff that was a mix of the Yorktown and Cretaceous typical for that creek - so found with crow shark, great whites , giant whites , whale bone fragments and ear bones etc.. It reminds me in shape of the tooth root chunks I frequently find at gmr of the enchodus but obviously much much much larger than those and the bone on this is much more porous as well though I’m not experienced enough to know if that’s from aging wear or not, honestly. Anyhow if anyone knows what tooth root segment this might be from or if I’m totally off and maybe it’s something mammal , any assistance is greatly appreciated! Last photo is the stuff I found (and actually kept) in the same area and with a pen for reference of size. -

Hi!, Recently I've bought a Spinosaurus tooth, but my family keeps saying that it is fake. The tooth came in the display, so I couldn't get it open, but I can still see it with great details. Can someone confirm that it is a real tooth and not another fake? The website that I bought it from said the following: Spinosaurus tooth 1.3 inches, form Morocco no restoration. Here are some photos. Thanks, Matt

Dear all, as an early Christmas present I got myself this tooth. It was sold as a Dromaeosaurus from the Judith River Formation in Montana. I tried my best to take close-up pictures of the denticles… They are clearly visible on one side but seem to be very worn (they are only faintly partially visible) on the other side… Can you agree on the ID of Dromaeosaurus albertensis? Thanks in advance and have a great Holidays!

Some things from Post Oak creek not sure if they're something or not, with exception of #3, pretty sure the one with ridges is echinoid spine and other one is fossil just don't know what. Really intrigued by whatever the yellow is, don't think it's man-made, it doesn't melt anyway.

"Spinosaur" tooth, is it real & ID
Trilobit posted a topic in Is It Real? How to Recognize Fossil Fabrications
I found this old tooth in a box in my house, the tip had snapped off. It said it was 'spinosaur tooth' Is it real, why does it have a strange pattern and if it is real, is it from some kind of spinosaur? -
Hi picked this up at a mineral show over weekend here in Taiwan. It was sold as tooth from Djadochta, if anyone can take a look? Hope photos are ok. It is small, 4mm. So its tricky to get a pic, also hindered by my essential tremor.

Hi! I'm looking for my first T-Rex tooth for my collection. I know all T-Rex teeth are pricey and I found this piece on website with acceptable price. So I need to make sure this is real T-Rex tooth. Seller said it is from the Hell Creek Formation, Garfield County in Montana, U.S.A. Thank you!

So I have decided to do some exploration digs in my area (Salem County) just because there isn’t much mentioned for spots and it’s not more than 1 hour in any direction for me to search. Found an area with a little help from some other individuals and the ROCKD app that put me on the Vincentown formation and had a slight success. Mostly found coral but did come up with this. Possible spike or claw? It is roughly 1 and 1/2” long. Just trying to see what it could be as not much is found in my area as of late.

Spinosaurus Tooth - Is it real?
PaulUK1 posted a topic in Is It Real? How to Recognize Fossil Fabrications
Hi all, First time fossil buyer. Purchased what appears to be a Spinosaurus tooth. This is a birthday present for my little boy who’s dinosaur mad. Wondered if anybody could shed some light on if they think this is real or not. The website notes it’s from Morocco and advised proof of authenticity will accompany the tooth. -
Kem Kem tooth repaired?
Adam86cucv posted a topic in Is It Real? How to Recognize Fossil Fabrications
I was curious if this tooth has been repaired or anything weird. Seems like it might have been broken and glued back together. I'm a bit curious about the shiney look and dark speckles on it. Does it seem like they put a coating on it and the speckles are matrix or miscellaneous 'dirt'? For the price I am offered it at I know it's not going to be perfect. Just wanted to see if anyone saw any red flags or weirdness.- 7 replies

Spinosaurus tooth: genuine or heavily restored?
Rava89 posted a topic in Is It Real? How to Recognize Fossil Fabrications
I've recently purchased a Spinosaurus tooth, but I have some concerns about it being heavily restored. It doesn't seem fake to my non-expert eyes, but it also looks a little "too perfect" to be completely genuine. I'm strongly concerned about the color and some kind of coating or paint that seems to have been put on the whole surface. I'd be happy to have a more expert opinion from you guys!!- 7 replies
