My father lives in SE MN, south of Rochester. He lives on a farm on top of a hill and has been doing a lot of topo work. In doing so, he has discovered that almost every rock he picks up has what appears to be seashells and fossilized plants in them. His research led him to conclude that the fossils are in the range of 400 million years old. The other day he was walking his land and saw what he thought was a potato sticking out of the ground. He picked it up and was puzzled. It feels hard like a rock, is smooth, and most shockingly it glows when light is applied to it. Is this an egg of some sort?

(distance between the two blue lines is one cm, photos taken under a dissecting microscope) Found this strange object in a creek in NJ, it is translucent, very smooth, and curved. My first guess for this object was a fossil bone fragment, but this may come from the shell of an invertebrate instead, (which would be more likely at this site) Does anyone have opinions on the object? thanks in advance!

Can Anyone Help To I.d. These Rocks I Found North Of Brisbane.
LuckyHunter79 posted a topic in Rocks & Minerals
Hi all, Found these rocks in the eastern foothills of the great dividing range, very small isolated deposit with a variety of agate colours, translucent to opaque, no signs of pollops or undigested food. although a few pieces appear to have undigested bones, perhaps... any help is greatly appreciate.
