I found this petrified snake/reptile head in North Carolina. I have this one and many others from my back yard. Including a petrified giant, and fingers with fingernails, perfectly preserved.. I know it's a petrified reptile from the petrification of 40 years of saltwater from the great flood. It's species is not in the internet anywhere that I can find, other than other petrified snakes, it's a one of a kind. I'm thinking it's extinct. It's very prominent for snake features and certainly a rock now. What does anyone here think? And I have many more like it. There are these and many others... You can see the neck bone, the black jugular vein, then the arterial iron oxide- Rich returning blood and that's what petrifies to gold. And they are also other species not alive today to our earthly knowledge.... Thoughts?

An unknown Agate, polished. I call it with windows. Not sure what crystals are showing in them? Has felt pad on the other side.

I have been put in charge of obtaining a meteorite for a drawing for our upcoming rock and gem show I know nothing about them except the fall from the sky and would like to get members opinions. Which would you prefer, a stony one or more iron one? Whole as found or a sliced slab showing internal structure? Any thoughts would be appreciated, I just don't know which direction to go. There is no right or wrong on this, I just want some idea of what would be the most popular. Thank you for your thought, caldigger

From the album: Ammonites & Ammolites
113 - 100.5 mya France A sliced ammonite with three types of preservation - Fossil rock, crystal and pyrite -
Hi all, I've got a sliced ammonite which I am unable to identity. All the seller could tell me was: It's from France. There's pyrite outlines and crystals in it. I didn't take a picture of the other side as it's nothing but a big chunk of grey rock.
