I found this last week beachcombing on Sand Key in Clearwater Florida. Just curious...At first I thought it was just a sea rock with worn holes. But then I noticed the tapered shape and the graduated concave grooves and center hole. Thinking maybe it is the mold of the inside of a seashell? Normally I don't find fossils there but sea was rough and I did find a piece of a fossil dugong bone the same day, which I normally never find there. It measures about 1.25" by 1.25" by 1 1/8". Darker color in grooves and center hole with some charcoal and golden brown hues. Any ideas what this could be?

I found out something new today and decided to share it with TFF members. A TFF member was my hunting partner today. He found some good stuff and a couple of my better finds are below. However, he showed me a 2.42 inch tooth that he found in a SW Florida creek last week. I did not recognize it, although I am sure many (some) ((one)) TFF shark tooth expert will. ID please -- Here are a couple of my shark finds from today. We were out on a prospecting trip and found some gravel.. We will go back there.. I love Sand Tigers and this one came in the last sieve of the day. and I also rarely find verts.. Thanks for any/all comments Jack

My brother and I are headed down to bowling Green to stay in the very best western. (Hot tub) we are driving down today to hunt tomorrow and thanksgiving. I see that we are going to have some serious rain on wed. And I am wondering if anyone could tell me roughly how much I can expect the river to rise based on an inch of rain... we plan to go back into Charlie creek. we both have full hooded 8mm semi dry suits and are not too worried about getting cold just trying to figure out how much I can expect to see the river rise while I'm there.. i am trying out a couple of dive lights my friend gave me. Hope they help. We have only been down to the peace a total of four times and have done well each trip. Fingers crossed...our family does thanksgiving on Friday due to work schedules of the fam. So hopefully we will be back to hunt sat and Sunday too. Anyone who has a kayak and a suit are more than welcome to join us we are going to the canoe outpost in Gardner at 7:30 tomorrow morning. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Also if any members ever make it to Jacksonville I would love to show off some great spots on the saint Johns river and on some spoil piles. Happy hunting to all.
