Good morning to all, I will be traveling to Seabrook, South Carolina on Saturday (6/15/19), and have been doing some research regarding potential sites to go shark tooth/fossil hunting. I have been fascinated with fossils and shark teeth my entire life, but never lived in a location to support this hobby. I've read that Summerville, Charleston, and Cooper River (maybe off-shooting creeks), are common spots, but I'd like to have a more calculated game plan than just stopping at random rivers/creeks LOL. After reading through several of the forums here, I understand that some basic advice would be to utilize google earth or maps, and attempt to locate "dredge spots" in rivers..? Would anyone be willing to help a newbie out with some research 101 type advice? Again, your craft absolutely AMAZES me!!! Any and all advice is greatly appreciated!!!

Can I get some help with verification and identifying these? It was an impromptu stop - my 12 year old and I were there to give some backed up traffic a chance to get flowing again. On the left is the cast of a shell. Next to that is likely a rock but but I couldn't be sure if it was or if it might be something else. The third item I was very unsure of. I *think* it may be a piece of bone, but I'm really not sure (again, may just be a rock). The last item on the right might be bone. I'm mad at myself because I had a beauty of a bone but dropped it. Ugh... Thanks for any help!

This is from my last trip a week or so ago to Northbridge Park on the Ashley River in Charleston, SC. I have been busy and unable to finish looking up those finds. This is one that truly intrigues me though... Is this something? Is it a tooth or other fossil? Or am I seeing what I hope to see in a rock? Thanks.

Today's fossil hunt with a few of the finds cataloged and posted: http://fossilforay.blogspot.com/2015/06/well-today-was-fun-fossil-hunt-for-sure.html I figured doing this via my blog rather than posting the tons of photos here would make it easier, I hope that's okay. I'm not sure of the ID on most of our finds. I'll make another blog entry with more cataloged over the next couple of days (I hope). For now, gotta jet - lots to do before we all go see Jurassic World!
