And I am very proud of her ex-husband luscious green grass lol I hope to laugh and learn a lot good ways to Identify rocks preserve them also I am looking foward for to meeting a as many mentors and friends as I can along the way ! The "Rocky Road " that brought me her has not only help me to reconnect with nature get out of the phone and just ground myself unfortunately my ice cream melted and now my feet are stuck on new Discoveries I'm young and eager to learn from y'all and someday pass my knowledge along as you can see if have quiet a since of humor and a on going tumultuous relationship with rocks So I figured might as well embrace. Its the adventure for me not the destination you may also notice my lack of punctuation so Sprinkle these in where you see fit .,.,.,.,.,,.,,;:.,,:;..,;..,....,,.,..,,.....,,......,..,.,,;..:........:) Happy Hunting ! Peace & Love Colb- 12 replies

Hi! New member checking in from Columbus Ohio! A few months ago I came across a large, recently-split chunk of limestone at a local park, and noticed it was full of shells. Somehow I made it to adulthood without realizing that fossils are all around us, and not just in books and museums, so these little shells shocked and interested me immensely. Fast forward to a few weekends ago, on a whim while driving through central Kentucky I pulled over on the side of the highway next to a rock face that had been blasted out decades ago and found countless rocks just laying around full of shells and other fossils. After googling furiously for hours to learn more about the geology of central Kentucky, I came across this site and decided I definitely need to be a member! I currently have no tools and still know next-to-nothing about how to find fossils without relying entirely on luck, so I plan on hanging around, reading a bunch, and asking some questions.

This may not be the correct place to ask about the crystal I found in this rock , but since I found it near the other coral piece ( I’m guessing it’s coral- Lol) I thought I’d add it. What makes it so neatly created in a PERFECT square?? I know the rock isn’t that pretty but the crystal is cool! Do you think the other one could be a piece of coral? Thanks! Both found in central Ohio river area.
