  8. Howdy all. My father was a wildlife photographer in Houston TX for many years. I recently came across a box of slides from March 1978, where he documented the excavation of a fossil giant ground sloth in the Houston area. I believe it was a discovery made from some kids, and their parents contacted someone to do the excavation. However, I can find nothing about the discovery or the dig online. Anyone have any info? Thanks, Mike
  9. Hi guys and gals, I haven't posted anything for like 2 months. I have a question, particularly for anyone who lives in Houston, Texas. Does the Houston Museum of Natural Science identify fossils??? I have seen many posts of people who went to the museum and paleontologists identified their finds. If so, how can I contact them??? Thanks in advance, Ramon

  11. Houston TX area

Hi all, I am going to be in Houston 11/4 -11/6. Other than Whisky Bridge, is there anything in the Houston area worth collecting? Also if someone wants to meet PM me, always like to meet other FF members. All info will be kept confidential, as always. Thanks, Herb
  12. Hey All, I'm a Coloradan who recently moved to Houston for the summer. I've been eager to go out and hunt down some fossils. I've been to some places int eh immediate vicinity like Denton, TX; Crockett, TX, and Mineral Wells, TX. So far I've been blessed to find great marine fossils like crinoids, bracs, ..etc. I was wondering if anyone can guide me to better locations around Texas, preferably around the Houston area, or even Austin or Dallas. I'm willing to dive for a great day of hunting ! I'm also open to any kind of fossils, I have a big interest in Shark Teeth, but would also like to find other stuff. Thanks !
  13. Hi, In the second installment of my collection, I´ll show the Gastropods....
